Campaign Introduction

Post by NWN DM » Tue Sep 23, 2008 10:14 pm

You look around the crowded Rhenne barge that has been both your transportation and your home for the past week. When you left port, your fellow travellers were all strangers; now after seven days of confined travel, you at least know each other by name.

One thing brought you together: a small contingent of men-at-arms in the colours of King Hazendell of Sunndi setting up a recruiting tent in the market square.

The essentials of the Sargent's message was this: Sunndi calls adventurers willing to do the King's work. Assurances of pay and compensation were vague, but you managed to pull enough out of the recruiter to know that there was promise in the call... for the right kind of person, and the right kind of effort.

In succession you each signed up, receiving 50 orbs of gold with which to find passage or amusement before the journey began.

As luck would have it, a small flotilla of Rhenne barges tied up at the docks, despite the sideways looks of the locals, and proceeded to trade (and likely steal) where they could. At the end of several days searching for the best means of travel to southern Sunndi, these Rhenne, untrustworthy as their reputation may have been, seemed to be your best option: a week on their barges or three in a caravan on foot.

That was a week ago. Now, the Captain of the barge has informed you that landfall is a mere few hours away. Unfortunately you will not be landing in a town or city, rather a Rhenne encampment on the southern shore of Sunndi, roughly halfway between the cities of Dullstrand and Saltmarsh. You look forward to your new challenge, wondering in the back of your mind whether or not you can really trust your new companions when steel meets steel.
