Heartstone Saga Chapter 1

Post by Greywolf McGrowler » Tue Aug 12, 2008 1:52 am

Well the first session went pretty well, and we all learned a few things in the process.

As a DM I got a bit of a refresher on how to reset factions thanks to Gloin accidently attacking the barmaid. *grins*

About the plalyers

Mathais: seems to be a strong leader type, and a seasoned warrior against the goblins in this area.

Issuldor Sunshadow: keeps a bit to himself, and at times mistaken for a wizard of sorts.

Basis Braille: It's been rumored he's a specialist in old tomes and artifacts and relics and things.

Gloin Hammerhelm: A Dwarven Paladin Prince; though a prince does have it's own problems. it seems that while up in the second floor of the Broken Bow he was attacked by a mysterious man. While thought to be dead he left and his god deemed him worthy to continue to live. Then again it just may be that he has a purpose to fulfill in life. For when the group came to the house of Miko Tasheka he mentioned that there is something special about the Hammerhelm heritage.

Now if there is anything the players would like to add about themselves or what has happened in the first session please do so.

2nd game session

Post by Greywolf McGrowler » Tue Aug 12, 2008 1:53 am

The second game session went pretty well.

There was only a mine incident where a trigger was activated during a battle and caused some lag on the server and everyone got killed so I only saw fit to heal everyone.

A new player joined this time around named:

Dira Xanatov: who seemed to have his own intentions on finding the source behind the goblin menace and and the raising of the undead and using it towards his own ways.

This time the group took their adventure towards the Heartridge Cemetary and fought off the undead only to find the crypts locked and the key to them missing. Though they did find a locket off of one of the undead with an inscription on it from Diana who lives back in town.

Diana was very greatful for the return of her locket. She gave it to her grandmother long ago and then after hearing fo the undead rising she was afraid of someone finding it and taking it for their own treasury.

They group tried to venture further into the Plains of Barnor and into the hills, but met too many goblins for their small group of three.

Hopefully next time more will join the adventure to quell the goblin threat

Third game session

Post by Greywolf McGrowler » Tue Aug 12, 2008 1:53 am

This session was slow to start off with, but after everyone got in things started moving.

As Gloin Hammerhelm and Mathais sat in the Broken Bow a dwarf by the name of Genar Holdorge came asking for a guy that looked like Issuldor Sunshadow. Who was supposed to be looking for his fishing kit that was left behind in a cave.

After being asked why he would leave such a thing. Genar said that goblins pushed him out and he wasn't prepared to defend himself against them unlike Gloin and Mathais. So they accepted the quest.

Before heading out of town they met up with Brandon Wallace who came from Waterdeep and finished first in the academy for archery, would have been one of Waterdeep's finest, but wanderlust got the best of him.

They traveled North and found plenty of goblins in the plains of Barnor and just didn't have time to make it into the Hills of Goth to find the cave Genar spoke of.

Perhaps the next time the adventurers will find this cave and discover what the goblins are doing in there.

4th Game Session

Post by Greywolf McGrowler » Tue Aug 12, 2008 1:54 am

Unfortunately, Gloin Hammerhelm was the only player able to make it in this session. Determined as he was he moved on into the Hills of Goth and found the cave Genar spoke of.

After many battles with a variety of animals and creatures he found his fishing kit and brought it back to Genar at the Broken Bow Tavern and Inn.

Genar was more than pleased to have his fishing kit back. He then took Gloin to a corner of the Broken Bow and whispered what was so important about his fishing kit. There just so happened to be something he was working on inside it.

Now the only thing left is to destroy what has brought the goblins together.

Heartstone Saga Chapter 1 - Session 5

Post by Greywolf McGrowler » Sat Aug 30, 2008 9:36 pm

This session things kept moving at a good pace I believe. We had 5 players which was just perfect to take on the goblin fort.

Alisha Marian sat in the Broken Bow listening to one of the dwarves complain of how long the goblins have been gathering in the area and how daring they have become. Then how they now were raising undead dwarves from the grave. She set off to find Mathais and Gloin to tell them of the disturbing news the dwarf named Hafur Straides told her.

Meanwhile Mathais, Rakhir Otrere, and Savok Toova were at the second floor of the barracks when an injured Heartridge Guard came running through telling Captrain Bartley of a recent attack on the town.

Afterwards Mathais, Rakhir, and Savok met at the Broken Bow and ran into Shephas who was sobering up from a night of drinking and Alisha who was asking where to find Mathais. When they all came together things got quiet in the tavern and Alisha noticed all the dwarves were gone.

After a bit of debate on what to do they all went to the training grounds to get some much needed goblin training and advice the one of the soldiers. Then a quick nights rest and off the heroes went. They met some opposition when entering the Hills of Goth, but there was only one severe casualty being Rakhir. As they entered the Hills they met with some worg riders, dwarven undead and many goblins.

It was the middle of the night and pitch dark outside when they decided to seige the goblin fort. It must of been to their advantage, cause they took down the fort without and deaths amoungst them. At the end they came upon a minotaur who yelled out the name Vracknor and they saw many large paw tracks on the ground. They then put the fort ablaze and headed back towards town and called it a night.

Next is to report back to the Captain and tell him what has been done and what they found.

Chapter 1 Session 7

Post by Greywolf McGrowler » Mon Sep 22, 2008 1:40 am

Session 6 didn't have enough players and was postponed.

Lots happened over the night, and it started off with Shephas, Alisha and Rakhir talking to the Captain Bartley who insisted in having proof that the goblin leader was killed. As well as getting the key back to the crypts that was stolen from Zarn. As well as find out more about the name Vracknor.

After adding two more people to their adventurous group: Winterbeard the wizard and Rose the priestess.

Back to the burned down goblin fort they found a few goblins morning the loss of their Minotaur leader and the crypt key on one of the goblin shamans. Before heading back to town to the Captain they found a small house in the Northern Plains with a scholarly man inside by the name of Miko Tasheka. As Miko explained he has been doing research in the area and found out that there was a great dragon war over 1000 years ago in what is knows as the Hills of Goth. He accepted the task from Alisha to do some research and see what he could find out about the name Vracknor. Miko said to come back later and he should be able to come up with something.

After a quick run back to town for a reward and proof that the Minotaur Minaxe is really dead. All five of the heroes went to see Zarn and return the damaged crypt key. Zarn the old man as he is was more than happy to see some visitors. He took the crypt key that went to Duke Farnums resting place and said that he would be able to fix it and make some copies for everyone within a month. Zarn also shared his journal with Rose on the events that transpired when he lost the crypt key in the first place.

As all that has transpired this ended the first chapter of the Heartstone Saga.
