Heroes of the Peloponnese Game Thread #3
Moderator:Lazybones
((Sorry for missing the last session, all. Seems the holidays have done more damage to my brain than I thought.
))
Re: Heroes of the Peloponnese Game Thread #3
((It's my son's birthday, so I'm having to put a health warning on my attendance on Saturday as we might be "doing something". I should be able to start the server regardless, as I won't be away from home, just out of the house.))

((Posting this, as it seems these forums don't like his phone, but there's also a strong warning on Smart Alec's attendance. His machine has gone kapput, and the prospects of a replacement in the near future aren't looking good. Options are being looked at and he'll keep us posted.
))

Sounds like an excellent excuse for a major upgrade!

Damian read over the letter and frowned. "It's sad to see Aristarchus pass, but I'm not surprised. I am glad that he had friends with him as he did. I know that El would have liked to have said goodbye to him, but to know that he thought of her in his final days should comfort her. Anyway, it is high time that we returned to Mantineia. I just hope nothing else is amiss there."

Looking at Damian, "When I suggested that we should go back to the village I sure did not expect that such dire news would fall upon us. Perhaps you are right though, when your time is up, your time is up".
Andreas paused, looked at the sky as if searching for a divine sign before asking:"When shall we depart?"
OOC
Going to housewarming party. Should be back on time but letting you know just in case I get home late.

//Sorry, all, but I think I'm going to have to sit out this Saturday's session. With two gone and one a maybe, I think it'd be better to wait until next week anyway.

"We've been talking about heading home for a while," Kataramene added, "and it seems the gods have, in their own way, given us a reason." She shrugged a little. "If the gods have another reason for directing our feet in that direction then I am sure they will reveal it soon enough." The young woman paused a moment.
"Hopefully in some way that allows us to prepare for it, but given they might not..." She paused again. "... I propose we make a stop in Argos on the way. The journey here featured banditry, dealing with the corruption of the shrine to Ares, combating the animals of that wayward follower of nature, and it was not far from home when we encountered that damnable satyr for the first time."
"Oh yes," she thumped one fist into the palm of the other hand, "I really want to be prepared for when our path next crosses his."
((SA is a definitely not able to play, as potential computer repairs haven't panned out and he's having to look at alternatives. I could play but have to leave at least half an hour early, as we're off out for a birthday meal and the movies. Looks like one of those weeks, but the decision is up to the rest of you, I guess.))

"It will be good to be home again," Eleni said, quietly. "But there was... so much I wanted to talk to him about, you know? All the strange things we've seen, everything I've learned, the ideas I've had... things I hoped we could make sense of together. Somehow, I always thought he'd be there, whenever we wandered back there. Waiting to hear all about the places we've been to and the mad things we've done."
The sorceress was quiet for a while, then rubbed her eyes.
"I'm sorry. I'll be fine. I just... wish I we could have gone back sooner."

With four players either definitely out or maybes for this week, I am cancelling today's session. We'll pick up the journey home next week.
For future sessions, please post if you know your plans in advance. The general rule is we play with 5 players, though I may postpone a game with two absences if the session's adversary demands a full crew.
