"As long as it don't turn into a woman, we'll be fine," observed Polytropos, dryly. "So what you're basically saying is - these trials are one long attempt to get Heracles killed? We're only at trial number two and it sounds like death incarnate. Why bother kidnapping him anyway if you've got all this lined up? I'm almost thinking this is some trick on Heracles's part. 'Get some foolish twerp to dress up like me and die in my place while I rescue my family'."

Kataramene paused in her steps for a moment after the first sentence and looked at Pol, seemingly oblivious to the rest of what he said. "What are you implying? As long as it doesn't turn into a woman?"
Re: Heroes of the Peloponnese Game Thread #2
"What?" Polytropos replied, confused. "I'm just saying - if it doesn't... you know. If it doesn't change shape, then... uh, I mean, not necessarily into a woman, but... if it can't trick us..." He tails off.

"Melts bronze, spits poison, grows extra heads... Oh yeah, that sounds like great fun." Tel sighed. "Anything else we should know? invulnerable hide? Turns people to stone by looking at them? Maybe it exudes a stench that gives you hangovers?" He turned sharply to face Pol "Hey watch who you're calling a twerp!"

"Gah!" the young hunter wrung his hands. "I'm just saying, we agreed to this pretty easily!"
Re: Heroes of the Peloponnese Game Thread #2
"Of course we did! Who could resist an opportunity to work with the great Heracles? Well. Not really work with. But, you know..."
Another pause, this time followed by a frown.
"We really aren't getting the best deal here, are we?"

Another task completed. After getting a lion's hide they had left the forest to venture into a large swamp infested with bugs and reptiles of all kinds and sizes. Somewhere they found the beast they were looking for: a kind of reptile with many heads. Everyone tried to cut and claim a head but the warriors with their sharp swords did better than the others...
"It would be really nice to have a bath and a massage after all this."
Andreas looked at the sky as if he was looking for a divine response...

"Don't look too long, Andreas, you might get a crick in your neck." Damian paused, seemingly sniffing the air. "And, yes, you could use a bath. Even Aias thinks you stink." He grinned and winked at Andreas. "Then again, we could all use a bath. While I may love nature, that doesn't include wading through swamps up to my knees." He sighed. "I guess we had better go see what new and 'glorious' task the king has for 'Heracles' this time."
