"I agree with Ama, I don't fancy going back past that town," Shanni added after listening to the others biting her lip pensively, and scratching at her ear occasionally. "Do you think we can find somewhere to the east and go around it? Perhaps there is another path over that way? Or maybe a boat? There was water to the east of the town so perhaps we can get around it that way?"

"We could go and have a look, couldn't we?" The young woman added looking at her sister. She wrinkled her nose, sniffing a few times. Her lip curled a little and she scratched her ear again, looking across at the eastern horizon hopefully. "It won't take us that long to try. If we don't then we need to work out some way to get past the town untroubled. Fortune favours the bold but it favours the ones that have a bit of a think before diving in boldly a bit more."

((Sorry for missing it guys. Been so busy the last couple of days with one thing or another it slipped my mind. :( "

After finding a way to reach the giant it was agreed that two silver weapons would be forged, most likely a great sword and a bastard sword allowing the two knights to handle whatever were-beast they could encounter.

In fact, they both chased on the beast after coating their weapon with "Divine Power". It was a one trick pony that did not last but it was enough to force the beast to flee.

"We did injure this time, I am sure of it but is he able to quickly heal his wounds or was I somehow mistaken?"

The devoted where waiting for the time to go back to visit the giant. They needed a break anyway.

"Oh, aye. The bloody bastard did seem ta heal 'is wounds rather quickly. I hope that there silver we be gettin' from the giant'll help. Otherwise we'll have ta look fer 'nother way. Blessins' be nice, but they be a temporary fix. We need somethin'll pierce through them durned hides and quickly."

"We already knew there were things beside truesilver that can harm these things, did we not?" Nihmri said.

She yawned, and cast her eyes towards the sun as if to gauge the time of day. Then she shrugged, and continued.

"They do not seem to care much for fire and acid, I mean. Failing that, just hitting them hard enough seems to accomplish at least something. I'm sure we'd be able to deal with one or two of them, if we could get them to stop running away. But how many of them are there in the swamps, do you think? We'd do best to arm ourselves with more than silver. Magic and torches and alchemist's fire and the like."

"It will soon be time to collect our weapons, is there any other avenue of investigation we can pursue here before then? With the alchemist dead in mysterious circumstance, it seems likely that we do indeed have an infiltrator. But without any leads on whom it might be, I do not see how we might proceed."

If we could find a decent trapmaker, we might be able to use some to weaken or finish off these weres.

"Fire and acid are something we don't have," Shanni added, looking irritable. She went to scratch behind her ear but stopped herself, turning it into a tug. "Some of the more experienced Luck Bringers could make things flame, but I'm not sure I've that much pull with the Lady yet. Probably because we turned away from something somewhere we should have been cleverer about, I dunno."

"And one of our best chances of a substitute is now dead. I don't care what anyone says, someone overheard us saying we were going to see him and there weren't too many who could." She looked around the village, glowering slightly. "Someone around here isn't what they seem to be.... and I don't mean me and Sis."

"What I don't understand is, why push that sot off a cliff? Why not, you know... bite him?" Suula frowned, looking uncomfortable, not meeting anyone's eye. "Does this mean the wolves aren't ready to make a move on this place... or that the man we're looking for isn't actually a wolf or a rat? 'cos if that's so, we'll have a devil of a time proving anything."
