The team was asked to go inside a mine. They tried to rescued some trapped miners but they arrived too late and could only retrieve their bodies. They also retrieve some very heavy ores. Certainly too heavy for Tenko.

The mines had some bizarre moving machines that attacked the group. They to be put away to rest in pieces not without difficulty. Also, some Rat-Men creatures had decided to invade the mines. They were easier to kill than the machine but still a great number of them could overwhelm the team.

Where were these creatures coming from? Why were they here? How many of them would need to be removed? These questions would have to be answered sooner rather than later.

When you see Tenko use the smoke emote in/before a fight, imagine that is it some kind of flash powder/smoke grenade.

Tianlong peeled off from the rest of the group to look for the Shenjuka the chamberlin had mentioned. He hoped that such a learned man might be interested in purchasing the armours the group had found, and also perhaps by now he'd have something to say about the strange clay-person they had killed on the road.

He hoped to conclude this business swiftly so that he could catch up to the group to help with the mission.

"Not rats but men, not men but rats." Moriko remarked looking into tunnels as if able to see with some clarity and tilting her head occasionally. Master rumbled at the response and Moriko tilted her head.

"Not one but not the other. They stay in the middle, and cannot know properly and cannot think properly." She sighed deeply. "Things are strange here."

MAster simply grunted in agreement.

It felt strange, being this far beneath the earth. It was not that she felt isolated, or free from the voices in her head - not really, anyhow - but everything felt just a little bit different, as though she were seeing the world through different eyes. Every now and then, she would turn her head to listen to the echo of a distant whisper, bouncing off the cavern walls. This was a place of stone and metal, yes, but that did not mean that it was not alive. There were secrets hiding in every crack and crevice.

"These rat-people are not stupid," she said, once she had grown somewhat accustomed to the rhythms of this unfamiliar place. "They are clever enough to lure us into traps. To fight like hunters and tricksters, not mere beasts. So why is it that they seem to be slaves to madness?"

"I don't know. Have they been gnawing at the root of this place for so long? I have not seen anything so grand," Wen said, peering around a stone corner. "Taizhou was impressive, the walls were great, the castle too, but here...? Here they have torn through the earth and built themselves not just a home, but a small kingdom! Drawing forth the riches of stone and steel to craft and shape..."

"The Great Tender of Earth had much to say on excellence, and patience, and but this? I have no words. It is true, what he said, that travel can teach you how much you do not know. Perhaps it is envy that has driven the nezumi mad."

I've hit a crash bug and cannot reenter the game. Since we're close to the end, why don't we call it there once you have finished your business in Taizhou (and Tenko has passed on the next quest). I will have to fix the area in the mod that has the crash bug and post a new version to Vanya Mia's Box account.
