Heroes of the Peloponnese Game Thread #3
Moderator:Lazybones
Sorry we crashed your server VM, thanks very much for hosting and making this all possible. Thanks all, very fun session! I'm enjoying the opportunity for a little RP after many years of playing games with no RP content. I'm looking forward to the next game on June 14th.
Also please note that I will be out of town and offline the following weekend, June 21st.
I have no other vacations planned for the next few months, so that should be my only absence this summer.

Bloody 4G and its dual IP addresses! If it weren't for the fact that my public IP and the one assigned to my modem were different, I'd offer to host.
Hey guys, just checking in to see how you all were doing. The renovations are still going, we're doing everything ourselves, so it's a balancing game of what to buy and when due to finances. We're trying to refinance our home equity loan, which would allow us to pay off the truck, the old loan, a personal loan we took out for supplies and credit card payments and pay off our credit cards while still leaving us a bit left over for more supplies.
Anyway, I'm still interested in a NWN game if any of you are thinking about starting a new one at a different time, just let me know. Thanks and game on.

OOC
Hi all. All ready for our coming game? I'll do some IC post later but right now I can't remember what we were doing last.

((Last session Tel trounced Kat in a fight to see who would take on Ares, and then trounced Ares, and we picked up a quest talking to Apollo. Then my IP switched and the game crashed!))

We were about to begin Apollo's quest to travel to the sun disk (Helios) and recover a magical crystal from there. He gave you a magic torch that can protect you against the searing heat for a limited time (Protection from elements charged item). You can likely expect powerful elementals to resist your incursion.

RogueZair gave me a heads-up that his travel plans unfortunately will keep him out of town this weekend, so he cannot make tomorrow's session.

"Going to the Sun are we? This sounds kind of insane but we probably have done worse, isn't it?". Andreas pondered a moment. "Well, a man got to do what a man got to do". He looked at the sky as if he had forgotten where he was before going through his belongings. "Do I still have something here that can protect from the heat? I guess not. Let's see, what bracers should I wear this time..."

Rejection. Humiliation. Exclusion. How did it come to this?
The woman remembered the statue, so long ago now it seemed, deep in the cave. Damaged and disregarded but with echoes of power, a power she had felt and who's call she believed she had followed. Present, and felt again at the altar they had found in the maze. Kataramene looked down at the small sword at her hip, a tool she thought she'd used to cut the threads tying her to place for her sex over hearth, stove and cradle well before now. She'd trod the stones of this familiar road for so long, when did her feet stray from the path?
It wasn't fair. She'd stayed standing against a foe when others had fallen or run, hadn't she? Worked out the way through the maze in Tartarus when others faltered, didn't she? Her skill with weapons had brought them through some trials, even helped gain the belt of the Amazon Queen, hadn't it? When did it all become about the pure strength with which you could swing a sword?
They'd stood in the brightest of lights, it seemed, but the darkness was ever near. And it, however brief, needed a light. She looked at the man who now bore the belt. Did that mean she had lost her way? Been "tamed"?
"Defeat is in the heart alone," she murmured and looked up at the sun, eyes far away.

"So we're going to Helios? I always kind of assumed it was just a big ball of fire that Apollo's chariot pulled around, never thought of it as a destination. Maybe it's like the plane of fire we visited? ... ah I just realised I'm wearing magic ice armour... This could get interesting."
