//Sorry about leaving like that, but I had an emergency biobreak. Anyway, all I really need is a new shield because my current one is only +3 AC. I saw a few towers I could use though. I'm taking Dwarven Defender in two levels, so the extra AC will help me stand my ground as it were.

((The decision seems to have been to keep a bit back for healing supplies and split, as we'll have quite a bit this time that seemed worth it. If folk prefer we can go back to a round robin of pooling for good stuff next time, one I honestly find more sensible, as long as it's a round robin and each gets a turn?

"I hope we will not have to face gigantic bug again. This one nearly crushed us all." Pius posed for a moment before continuing: "I suppose it can be viewed as a reminder that we must remain humble at all time regardless of the equipment and experience we have we will be facing foes as dangerous as deadly as this bug if not more. May the Gods be with us."

//personally, I'd prefer regular splits. I tend to stock up on cheaper, but helpful, items and buy big ticket items when we get a windfall, or when I've saved up excess cash. If people want something expensive, they should save up for it.

Slade was not particularly pleased with how things in their new location kicked off. No one seemed to expect them, or seem overly excited to see them. Their letters of commission seemed worth less than the parchment they were inscribed on. When they finally got to meet the town council, they were equally reserved in their welcome and requested proof of the party's skill.

The test set by the town council had nearly proved the party's undoing with many members falling before the mandibles and spit of the gigantic beetle. His own contributions to the near fiasco were minimal, as all his arrows seemed to simply bounce off - or simply miss, the incredibly agile bug. He had snuck in unnoticed a few times to patch-up companions passed in pools of their own blood. Somehow, even now he wasn't sure exactly how, the party had managed to eventually slay the beast, and return victorious.

The silver lining, however, was victory brought with it a major infusion of gold to the party coffers and now it seemed shares were finally going to be forthcoming, enabling him to finally secure one or two useful items to aid in the upcoming venture against these giants. He wondered exactly how much gold he would receive, and what he could afford to spend it on?

Toric snorted at Pius' words and continued to peruse the merchants' wares. His eyes settled on a few tower shields almost as tall as him. "Ah, me laddies! Now these be proper shields indeed! Though I'm loath ta part with me shield, I be needin' somethin' with a bit more 'eft ta it. That damnable beetle almost ate through me old one." He looked at the others. "So, who's got the coin an' 'ow are we ta spend it?"

We're on the cusp with 5 of 7 available to play, but it seems to me that we'll have an easier time of it with the full group present to do trades, divvying wealth, and purchasing new gear. Let's bump the next session to Feb 27. I'll send an e-mail around to the group.

"I think we've all got needs of one sort or another," Shanni responded, counting through the healing supplies in her pack and frowning a little, "but I'm not sure how humble is supposed to help anything. What are we expected to do, bend our knee and ask something not to hit us too hard because we don't want to have our armour scratched? Far better to start in an organised fashion and not have to rely so much on Suula's cursing to bring things to their knees than be humble about combating evil and saving lives."

"As for our mercantile capability I think we've enough to simply split and look to our own needs this time?" The young cleric held up a cautionary finger. "After a degree of top slicing for medicinals, of course. I want to be able to get something other than just supplies to keep you all on your feet. The Lady will get a bit bored of us asking all the time," she threw a challenging smirk at Suula, "and if we keep relying on curses Suula is going to need to get farrier size nail clippers."

Suula just holds her nose in the air. "'Can't rely on being fortunate, we've got to prepare!'. Fine words for a priestess of Luck," she says. "Maybe you should just admit my goddess is more practical than yours. Of course, if trying to hold a group fund is becoming too much of a bother because of grabby hands, then donations to the Church of Beshaba - at least, this part of it - are greatly appreciated."

Suula nods, and then waits for the moment at which her sister turns away in disgust so she can check her nails.

"We'll split once we've bought healing kits. There must be some sort of reward for the work we've been doing, before we have mutiny in the ranks. Then we must be quickly on, events in this frontier town we're to travel to no doubt proceed apace without us, we can ill afford to waste time."
