Toric looked at the two sisters, then at Am with an incredulous expression. "What's eatin' 'er?"

//sorry folks NWN crashed on my when I transitioned North from the crossroads. Tried several times and got the same results. I'll see if I can sort out my desktop NWN for next time.

Must be something in that tileset that is missing with your setup. We could try jumping you past it, or resetting the server.

EDIT: looks like we missed you, hopefully we can resolve the issue for next time. In the absence of the scout the group wandered into some very hot water. ;)

//Karv, make sure NWN isn't installed to the Program Files (x86) folder and that you're running it in XP mode and as an admin. It should look like this:

//Well I DL'ed and did clean installs of NWN on both my desktop and notebook from my GOG accounts and tweaked as suggested. Looks like it's running OK in a couple of simple tests so far...

As Slade moved north of the crossroads towards the mining outpost, he noted what looked like a small cave off to one side and decided it might be wise to check it out to avoid any nasty surprises popping behind the group. The entrance proved smaller than he'd expected, certainly too small for giants and ogres, but he thought better safe than sorry, and wormed his way in to look around. it opened up into a larger gallery that looked to have been worked by hand. As he snuck forward, he heard an ominous crackle and rumblings behind him. Deftly leaping forward, he dodged an avalanche of stone and earth that sealed off the way he'd just entered. He pondered his options; the team wasn't likely to spot the small cave as it was a bit off the road and he'd barely seen it himself, so they weren't likely to check it out, especially as it was collapsed now. The galleries were definitely worked by hand, so there were likely more, and bigger, ways out of this complex. Dusting himself off, he carefully made his way down the cavern fully alert. He came across an occasional odd bone or bit of refuse, but nothing of any particular value. He didn't come across any humanoids, but there were others living in the deserted galleries. Rats of various sizes and numbers, apparently living off fungi, refuse and each other, seemed the most common. Assorted slimes and molds, living off refuse and any other living thing they might blunder into, were occasionally spotted. He came across a beetle or two feeding on fungi. The top of the local food chain seemed to be giant hunting spiders. He found one engorging itself on the remains of several large rats, and carefully worked past it. The hours passed; various passages twisted and turned. He stopped briefly to rest once, then pressed on into the darkness. Finally, around a corner and there ahead fell a shaft of soft sunlight. He edged slowly forward, wondering where he'd ended up at.

//The only thing worse than getting dumped into windows 10 is the disaster of opting to roll back to win 7 MS kindly gives you and then finding many drivers not properly restored, the most serious one being my built in network adapter effectively bricking my desktop as I can't connect it to the LAN or the internet now. The problem made more serious by the fact my original CDs are who knows where after the last wife's reorganizing/repacking of stuff I had in the bookcase, now cleared for kiddie toys:(

Anyway, for now I'm using my laptop, but am going to have to finally get around to rebuilding my old English OS Win 7 machine.

Toric looked over the wall and the stores of the guards there with a critical eye. He nodded to himself a few times, impressed with both the morale of the troops and the conditions of the walls and stores. As night fell, he settled into one of the cots and closed his eyes. "Get ready, 'fore tomorrow we fight some giants!" Soon his snoring could be heard halfway across the wall.
