Heroes of the Peloponnese Game Thread

Leonidas poked about the newly acquired home looking for anything that might come in handy down the road. The place was quaint, but nothing spectacular. It looked like it'd be warm and dry in the winter, which might come in handy on nights he didn't find a friendly village girl to pass the evening with. While the others pranced and practices with their new spears and staves he wandered along the river bank collecting rocks of suitable size for use in a sling.

Andreas had planed to go fishing that day but the Gods had decided that the young athlete would need to face toads and badgers instead. By Zeus that was rather ridiculous. The deed was now done and from homeless he found himself co-landlord of a farm with a field of olive trees. From now on oiling his body should not be too difficult, olive oil would have to suffice...

Sorry got distracted when we were trying to get some bronze to fix/repair the spigot for the fountain of Poseidon.

Andreas was aware that attracting the ire of the Gods was no small thing. The words he had spoken were not to defy or anger Poseidon, they were more the words of an immature man desperate to get some answers. Why Poseidon had taken his father who's devotion was known to all? Where had his mother gone? Did she jump off a cliff to be reunited with her husband? Did she travel to a far away land to seek the help of magical creatures?
Andreas did not know they would visit the shore where his father fragile fishing boat had been found so he was a bit surprised when they got there. There a big reptile near the cave, perhaps one of these reputed to be easily found along the river Nile in the land of the Pharaohs and their pyramids. Andreas had no clue how that animal could have got here. In the cave, they found a large boulder blocking a passage. With great difficulty they moved it almost getting crushed in the process but the young athlete did put his strength to good use avoiding the worse. Back in the village they were now trying to get new spears and some bronze to fix Poseidon's fountain...

Yesterday...
As Damain stood waiting for the others to finish up their shopping, he looked out to the farm they had just received for helping that mother badger and her family. He smiled as he thought of tending to the olive trees and learning more about that old tree. He looked at the others and shook his head. Since it seemed that they would still be a while, he could go and explore those trees more. He gathered up his staff and headed back to the farm, intending to only be a few moments.
When he got there, he started checking the trees for parasites and seeing how healthy they were. Satisfied, he sat down underneath one to enjoy the shade and soon fell fast asleep, Aias curled up along side him.
Today...
Damian woke with a start as the first rays of the morning sun hit his face. He yawned and stretched, before slowly making his way to his feet. He put a hand on his stomach as it growled and looked around. "What time is it?" he muttered. He stumbled into the cottage and washed up before making a quick breakfast. He retrieved his staff and quickly made his way back into the village, hoping that he didn't miss his companions before they left. "Great. Fine time to take a nap, Damian. You had better hope nobody got hurt." he chided himself as he entered the village. He soon saw Andreas and made his way towards the young man, eager to learn of the news.
[OOC}: I forgot to set my alarm last weekend, but I'll be here this time.

Eleni had become moderately adept at bargaining, often aided by a minor charm here and there to render her the disposition of her victims more agreeable. And when that failed, she had found that systematically annoying them into submission sometimes worked just as well. But somehow, she imagined this particular merchant would not be quite so easily manipulated by her usual tactics, so it was probably just as well they had found an alternate arrangement.

Polytropos looks unhappy, and seems to make no bones about making it clear. "This had better not be any low-born deed of thievery, for heroes don't do such things. And it had better be a task befitting our skills! And it had better be something that won't take forever, for the god of the seas won't wait that long! And it had better not involve giving up our house, because a hero would not treat a gift so! And... and..."
Polytropos tails off, and rubs his chin. "Being a hero is actually quite hard," He reflects. "Alright, what do you have?"

Re: Heroes of the Peloponnese Game Thread
Their trip to the cave had been a little more taxing than they might have expected, the great crocodiles proving able foes. However they were triumphant and after a nights recovery Telemachus felt well able to pursue their next task. Aquiring the wood for the bow would probably involve fighting some wolves, and his face lit with a grin at the prospect of the challenge.
Leonidas
The trip to the sea caves had been rather exciting. They'd fought an couple of large reptiles some had said were alligators. He'd been quite handy with his sling, delivering a killing blow to one of the beasts. The shrine to Posiden was an unexpected find. The god had not seemed happy with their intrusion and tried to drown them. Leonidas wondered whether it really was worth all the cost and bother to repair the place, but the others seemed bent on doing so, and went with the flow. He'd managed to find a few more stones for the sling in the caves, so was steadily building up his supply for further use. So far, he'd mostly avoided getting tangled up in melee, but wondered what sort of weapon he might scrounge to defend himself, should that happen. He'd always been pretty good with his fists, but wasn't sure he wanted to rely on those when facing bigger tougher things close up. Well, he'd worry about that down the road when he'd managed to scrounge a few coins. Now, they were talking about hunting wolves for the local merchant. Those could be tough and smart; Leonidas had hunted a few during his years as a shepherd, and driven off more than a few from his flocks. It would be good to be out in the hills again.
