Tenko reached the bamboo grove without being detected. He was approached by Gao the Hermit. Not exactly what he expected. Gao was not exactly human and he was probably aware that Tenko was also one of the spirit folk. Gao was not specific. He did not say that he was the one who called Tenko. He mentioned that he found some items that were not permitted and that he got rid of them. Tenko assumed that the hermit had found his equipment. Not much was said and the hermit vanished. Tenko also found a note in the bushes probably from Gao...

Later that they he helped the other youngsters remove some bugs from underneath the village.

The Dragon Village was a even smaller and more rustic than Gojiro initially imagined. It boasted a single tiny shop with almost nothing of use and local hall mostly deserted when he poked his head in and looked around. After splurging for some simple quilted armor, a sling and a small fighting stick, He only had a couple of coins to spare. Wandering around the village, he came across a few monks practicing and chatting, so he stopped to watch them out of boredom. An older man hurried up to this group begging for help with some bugs, and the group set off to investigate. With nothing else to do, Gojiro tagged along to see what was up. Beneath the mill, the found a few small but aggressive brown beetles, which were all pretty quickly squashed. Climbing thru a breach in the cellar wall, they delved into some tunnels in which more bugs were slain. Some rather dangerous molds were encountered as well and he quickly decided to follow in the steps of others to avoid stepping on such. They found a strange watery altar that was dispelled and a few trinkets lying about. With the threat dealt with the monks returned to the nearby monastery and disposed of their finds. He was given a few coins as a share for his efforts. It was more than he got for hauling bales and in a lot less time, so he decided it might not be a bad idea to hang around and see what sort of work might come along next.
