Leonaidas had been quite pleased when his first cast had solidly stuck the middle of the target, but he had to admit that'd been more luck than skill, as he hadn't much experience with javelins. It'd been fun while it lasted; perhaps he'd have better luck in the wrestling?

Damian looked at Kat and smiled. "No one was better deserving of winning the javelin throwing contest, Kat. That was a remarkable display of skill." He patted her on the shoulder and looked at his empty cup before wandering back to the kegs for a refill.

OOC

Gulfwulf, I also do not remember stuff even when we do not skip a session.

BTW, during winter sessions I need more coffee and stuff coz 11:30 pm - 1:30 pm is not as easy as when we played PnP all night long (and sometimes the following day non stop) some 30 years ago.

If anyone got a potion of youth or something that would help. ;-)

IC

Javelins? Andreas was no good with these and he had never been. So there was no way he could win that game. He could win the race although he would have to watch for Telemachus. As for the wrestling contest, he would have to outsmart Leonidas who's agility was equal if not superior to his as well as Telemachus, Kataramene and to some extent Polytropos as they were probably as strong as he was and had the advantage of endurance.

Eleni lounged in a leisurely fashion while her compatriots worked up a sweat, a bunch of grapes close to hand. A well-deserved period of rest, relaxation and entertainment seemed to be just the thing she needed after the craziness of the past few days. It did irk her somewhat that there seemed to be no events or games fit for her participation, but she had reasoned that any contest involving her particular talents would involve very little competition indeed - which, while pleasing to the ego, would hardly be sporting. All the better to enjoy the efforts (and errors!) of others, then - not to mention the food. These grapes really were some of the sweetest she'd ever had.

Still, she wondered if perhaps she should surprise the others. She might be at risk of falling over if any of them breathed too hard in her general direction, but she did have a few tricks that could make the proceedings a bit more interesting...

Since we have a very diverse membership I thought I'd remind everyone that we're now on Standard Time in the US. Tomorrow's game will be at the usual time for US residents, 7:30 a.m. Pacific.

We'll pick up with the footrace and the wrestling competition, and take it from there. The word is that both Pedaeus and Ismene have prepared worthy prizes...

The sharp looking spear twirled through the air in a series of practice feints and thrusts, ending up with the butt end settled on the ground. One hand curled around the weapon and the other resting lightly on her hip, and looking pleased with herself, Kataremene struck a proud pose before anyone who cared to look. She nodded a gracious thanks at Damian, obviously sharing his sentiments.

"The question now is do I participate or not?" she asked the company at large. "Having won one prize is it truly fair to pursue the others? Shifting position subtly she lifted the free hand and tapped a finger against her lips a few times as if pondering and then gave every impression of reaching a decision. "I will enter," she said, smiling slightly impishly, "The experience might teach you things and I can always let you win."

Throwing had never really been Telemachus's strong suit, but he'd had some luck and some good throws and was overall pleased with how he'd aquitted himself. But, what he was really looking forward to was the running and the fighting, two fields he felt far more capable in.

Damien looked around. Off on another adventure, he mused. He hoped this one turned out better than their last one. Seeing his life blood pour out of his body was not an experience he wanted to live through again. At least this time Aias would be there to help the party as well as the spirit of the badger. He was happy to see that Eleni could also summon said spirits, so the party's abilities would be augmented. Now if they were lucky, they wouldn't run into any more nature spirits...
