In the dream world, Slade found himself paired up initially with Toric on the outskirts of a village similar to one they'd visited in the past. In their initial scouting around, they found no paths out of the area, so cautiously entered the hamlet. They met a familiar dwarven trader who transformed into some sorta demon, which the two of them dispatched without too much problem between Toric's strong arm and Slade's sharpshooting. Investigation of some of the buildings proved rather futile, a few more similar encounters, equally dealt with. Venturing back outdoors, they ran into some nastier demons, which with the help of the suddenly reappearing rest of the party, they managed to destroy. Eventually, they found and rescued a psion, who easily dispelled or banished the major dream demons threatening them. He directed them to look him up in the real world, and after awaking back at the temple and resupplying, the part willed themselves to visit his home.

"I don't know if'n I like all of this teleporting 'ere and yon. What's wrong with old fashion walkin'? Us Dwarves are known fer our constitution fer a reason! But if this be the fastest way ta get to that psion's house, I guess I can deal with it. Just don't expect me ta be jolly 'bout it." Toric huffed and concentrated on his destination. "I hope this goes quickly. There be somethings a Dwarf shouldna be subjected too and this be 'ne of 'em!"

"He said it would take us half an age to get there the old-fashioned way, so, yes, I am afraid you will have to deal with it. I mean, you're more than welcome to catch up to us later, if you like. Once you've figured out where the hell we're even going. Probably some far-away continent that's largely uncharted, or something. Imagine the stories you'll have to share! Adventure on the high seas, peril in the wilderness, and so forth!"

Nihmri sighed, almost wistfully.

"Seriously, though. I don't love this, either. There's no guarantee we won't wind up in the middle of the ocean, or five thousand feet in the air, or inside a wall. But it's not like we've got a world of options, here."

"Guess we'll just have to trust to luck then," Shanni said and tossed her head haughtily and sniffed. "Whether he believes it or not the Lady has got us to this point, and is with us still. So buckle up your consciousness, hold on to your extraneous parts, and gather around." She grinned in a defiant fashion. "We're going for a ride."

"I wont pretend to be an expert on psionic powers, but I imagine this gentleman has not simply gone to the trouble of setting up this spell as an elaborate way of killing us. The destination point is most likely an intrinsic component." He paused for a moment. "As for what we'll find there though, that's anyone's guess."

"I'll take weird magic over walking across half of Toril with you lot." Suula griped. "No offence," she added sarcastically, grouchy after the sleep and with the prospect of a teleportation group hug. "I just get the sense this is going to be a wild goose chase; how useful can this mind-hopper be, if those... monsters... already caught him once?"

"The Brain"

The team ventured into the Astral plane. That was new for Althor. They met and dispatched a group of githiankis, stole their ship and somehow sailed to their citadel. Inside they battled more gitihiankis and other foes, freed a less than thankful githzerai and spoke to a captive illithid brain.

In battle, Althor was often switching to big sword as his bow was not yet that effective. Some day soon his blood magic will make his arrows stronger. Strong enough to go through wood and eventually even stone walls.

"Ya know, them Gith don't seem all that different ta me. Sure one side try ta kill us, but the other wasn't exactly pleasant either; one wanted ta kill us and I wanted ta kill the other." Toric shook his head. "And that Elder Brain thingy. Talk about repulsive. Thought I'd seen everything that'd make me sick, but I be wrong. I'm glad now I didn't cut it 'cause I'd probably still be cleaning its guts off me armor."
