"That was not too bad" said Andreas as they walked towards the shore. "It is no great mystery though, we were outdoor, we had a chance to plan our fights and Damian was here with his rock-skin to protect us. In Thrace we appeared to be outnumbered by soldiers in a small space and things went out of control." Andreas paused for a moment trying to remember the fight with the King and the taming of the fiery horses.

"It is really too bad we could not stay with the amazons, I could have eaten some delicious spicy meat, tried their wine and used some warrior entertainment. What a pity. One thing I am happy about though. They all seemed to have two breasts so the story about amazons self mutilation of one breast in order to aim better with a bow was in fact a ridiculous legend..."

OOC

Comparing "Inferno" and "Combust" casted by a lvl 12 PC
Inferno, Druid 5, Short range, NO SAVE, will last 12 rounds with an average of 84 HP of damage
Combust, Sorcerer/Wizard 2, TOUCH, Reflex Save every round.
Single Target and SR applicable for both.

Inferno is a straightforward spell however at that lvl Ice Storm will do 60 HP of damage to anything in the area of effect, slay living will kill or inflict about 22 HP of damage to a single target and wall of fire will last 6 rounds and may inflict up to 84 HP of damages to anything foolish enough not to walk away from it. For a true single target spell I would probably prefer slay living over inferno although if it is aimed at a boss inferno may prove more effective.

Combust is one of these cool spell working well for chaotic spellcaster since it is impossible to know if it will last or not. Avoid casting it on rogues/bards/monks and anything with high reflex save and prefer targets in bulky armor (e.g. fighters, clerics...) and low reflex save.

Note however that anything with elemental (e.g. fire) immunity or damage resistance against all elemental forms of damage may limit the effectiveness of such spell. Spellcasters often have something up to protect against these.

((I took ice storm off of my list because I would be damaging you guys with it like Shadani's fireballs did. :P I'm a straight druid with 19 wisdom if that helps with spell suggestions.))

((Ice storm is fine as long as it's an opener to a fight before a mob attacks. Sending them running onto our swords and all that!))

Damian rolled his eyes at Andreas' comments. "I seriously doubted the queen's daughter would have welcomed you with any greater warmth than what she did us, Andreas. But you are certainly welcomed to go back and see." He grinned. "I, for one, and glad to be away from those warrior women - they're as bad as some male warriors! Who cares how good you think you are on the battle field, there's always someone better than you. And sometimes even the best of warriors can be brought low by a simple mistake or misjudgment - just look at us." He shook his head before continuing. "Anyway, if we're going to copy the belt, we should do it soon before that king's advisor comes sniffing around looking for it."

Leonaidas was happy to out of the Amazon lands; they'd seemed too priggish for his taste, and had shown little interest in him or his songs. He wondered what last task the party would be saddled with when they finally returned to the king's court.

"Let's not forget the King still has priests in his service," Eleni said. "They might be able to determine whether or not the belt is genuine. And I suspect they would grab at the slightest excuse not to honour their end of this agreement."

"As for the amazons... Well, we've had worse hosts. Far rather them than the Thracians. At least they know how to respect their Wise Women, you know?"

The sorceress smiled, in a somewhat disconcerting manner.

"Besides... treating you all like lowly servants was quite cathartic."

"Wasn't it just?" added Kataramene. "In fact, I think we should keep it up. They're all fairly bright, so it wouldn't take long to learn." She smiled in an impish manner. "I can see it now, 'The warrior queen and her wise woman.' every thing would be so much better."

"We can look for a new land, or rescue some territory from people light the Thracians, and forge a new kingdom." The young woman waved her hand expansively. "I'm quite sure there would be a place for you in the new world order, somewhere."She glanced sideways at Polytropos and her grin broadened momentarily. "We'd certainly try to find something suited to your individual skills."

"That mage just showed up as a ghostly image on the deck of our ship. Do you really think we're going to fool him?" Telemachus asked, sounding doubtful. "If you could make a copy that worked that well, we might as well just keep the copy."

"Anyway, we should be nearly at the end of our tasks, the next will be the tenth. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Eurystheus somehow trys to wrangle more out of us."

//with regards to spells, Ice storm is fine as long as you don't drop it on us or directly in front of us without warning heh. Firewall is also pretty great, pretty good damage and you can use it to block choke points, drop it directly on a group, use it to split groups etc.
