Okay... introducting the Cyrvass sisters.

Born into a family from Arabel, in Cormyr... to counter people's opinions of their name bringing bad luck (it means 'black crow', you know), an ancestor turned from carpentry to the priesthood of Tymora, eventually founding a Temple that has spread emissaries of the Lady of Luck far and wide. With Tymora's recent favour, sparing Arabel from the dangers of the Time of Troubles, that temple has been doing well, and the family has enjoyed a time of fortune, status and ease as a result.

---

SUULA Cyrvass is one of a pair of twins, twenty minutes younger than her sister, SHANNI. Though a sober, plain and (some would say) staid individual who conscienciously tried to keep the family faith, she has been overshadowed at every turn by her sister's natural charm, good nature and joie de vivre. This has led to no small end of rivalry between the two sisters, in almost all things - life, love, study and play - and a headache all round for their family.

Things got worse when Suula - looking to distinguish herself from her sister in the most definite way possible - renouced Tymora on her sixteenth birthday, instead turning to the city's growing counter-culture of worshipping Tymora's twin, Beshaba. As an acolyte of the goddess of bad luck, Suula has certainly brought it amongst her family, who have had to bear the embarrassment and disapproval of their peers as a result. Though not exactly malicious, Suula has begun to take a perverse satisfaction in pointing out to everyone she meets that good luck only lasts so long.

Things changed, however, when word came that a missionary great-aunt had died, having successfully brought the word of Tymora all the way to the Moonshae isles for many years. Deciding that the Arabel priesthood of Tymora ought to be continually represented at this Temple of All Faiths, a successor was chosen - and the auguries pointed to young Shanni Cyrvass. However, the family Cyrvass have also allowed Suula to travel with her sister, weary of her rebellion, hoping that at this Temple of All Faiths she'll find a degree of aceptance... and that despite their antipathy, the two sisters will look out for one another in the world.

Aiming to try being a Neutral cleric-rogue, here, with the Trickery and Destruction domains. We'll see how that works out.

Echoing the general background above...

---

Shanni Cyrvass is the first of the twins, older than her sister by that oh so important 20 mins. Shanni is a typical Luckbringer, clerics of the faith, who are known for their love of the brave of the heart and devotion to endeavour. No luck can be found if you don't ever try. How will the Lady notice you if you never do anything to gain her attention?

Ever ready to bring blessings to the adventurous, with an easy smile and lust for life, too many occurrences "borrowed" items, of stolen spotlight - and of stolen boyfriends - have been the cause of disagreements. None greater than the split in the faith, but they are sisters. Shanni firmly believes that Suula can be rescued by following a goal, as it is the directionless path that brings you to Besheba. The "quest" is a good thing, for both of them, and if you can have a little fun on the way .....

Sisters, sisters ....

---

Will go Cleric but then likely branch into Bard if we've a pure cleric. If not will stick pure cleric.

Actually I've tweaked the start a bit so you'll all be arriving on the same ship at the start of play. But you can assume you met and exchanged basic greetings (and whatever portions of your origin stories you cared to share) on the sea journey.

I'll be going with the Dwarven cleric I think. I'll post a backstory after I think it up.

((Planning to go either cleric/rogue or cleric/bard. Which I guess means we've no full-time cleric, VM, unless Karv or Zair go in that direction.))

Nihmri Sarkara is a young acolyte of Savras, the god of fate and truth. She's been quite talkative on the journey to the Conclave, eager to share stories of her homeland of Tashalar. Often, she gets distracted during the telling and starts talking about entirely unrelated things - life in Tashluta; her brothers and sisters of the faith or sometimes just her personal theories on why certain fruits are the colors they are.

She carries with her a deck of cards made of vellum, each inscribed with arcane symbols and exotic writing. She uses them to perform simple divinations for the amusement and enlightenment of strangers, though she insists she's not very good at the whole practice yet. Her predictions are equal parts insightful and confounding.

Those who have been paying attention to her might have heard her talk, among other things, about growing up as a street performer on Tashluta. Her path to the clergy was evidently not a usual one, nor was the path that led her to the Temple of All Faiths. But she is clearly very excited to be where she is, if occasionally ever so slightly nervous.

We all start as level 1 clerics, so I daresay we can figure out who goes for what class by the time we level up. :ugeek:

Pius had followed the instructions given to him by his Master: "I am going to the Temple of All Faiths. I cannot take you there Pius. However if I am not back within six moons you should travel there. Do not look for me however. I will find you if I need you. But know that you are ready to take your destiny in your hands. You have served well as a page but now it is time for you to become a knight and serve Helm".

Pius did not want to stay behind, he wanted to see the world and perhaps prove his worth.
The old knight continued: "I have left some coins and a bit of equipment for you. Just ask for it."

Pius was now on a small ship with a group of people who appeared to be going to the Temple of All Faiths. He was a bit nervous.

A young Dwarf with flaming red hair stood on the practice grounds in the temple of Clangeddin Silverbeard practicing with his battle ax. He was a flurry of motion: dodging imaginary blows and counter-attacking with vicious hits that shook the straw dummy. He stopped as a voice called out to him from behind, "Well done, Torric! If'n that were a giant's leg, it'd be fallin' down like a great felled tree! Shame they donna stand still fer the hewin'!" The Dwarf paused and whipped the sweat off of his brow before turning towards the speaker. "Ay, Master Zanic, 'tis a shame they don't." The older master, silver starting to streak his dark beard, smiled and slapped Torric on the back. "Bah, but ye make clan Stonehammer proud, me boy. So proud, we decided ta send ye on a trip ta the Temple of All Faiths. If'n yer ta be an alaghor, ye need ta learn more 'bout the world and we thought the temple'd be a good place ta do it."

"Thank ye, Master..."

"Nay, I'm not yer master any more, laddy. Ye're yer own Dwarf now, and we know ye'll make old Silverbeard proud, as ye made us proud. Now go tell yer ma goodbye 'cause ye're leavin' on the morrow and won't be late."

"Oh, I'll be there, don ye worry, Mas..Zanic. Thank ye!"

"Ye'll thank us by doin' us proud and provin' yerself in battle, don't ye doubt. Now get! Ye got packin' ta do."

Torric grinned at the other Dwarf and raced home, eating a quick meal before packing. The next day he was at the docks and aboard the ship, bound for places unknown and battles as yet un-fought. He looked around at his companions and nodded to himself, eager to see what his travels brought him.

//There's a good chance I'll be missing the first and second sessions of this campaign if we're starting June 27th because I'll be packing my mother up to move in with my wife and I. After we get her here and settled in, I should be able to play again.

I am using CEP 2.4 and the Worms Seasonal Forest hak. You guys should have those already from past campaigns.
