//I will be back in the US on vacation so will miss Aug 18 & 25.

The group decided to head directly to a Builders outpost to investigate a threat there rather than returning and reporting their discoveries to the governor. Enroute, they tangled with some forest trolls and wild boar. The Builders informed them stone men had taken over part of their complex and they had sealed and posted guards there for the time being. One of their main craftsmen was missing in that area as well. Gojiro paused at a local merchant and perused his wares but didn't see anything particularly interesting. Forging on into the Builders complex the party dispatched several challenging stone men and a number of other stone or metallic golems of lesser power before confronting the missing craftsman and his guards. He turned out to be insane and the group was forced to slay him after dealing with his guards. Various documents uncovered indicated he was working with or for another and a fragment of the tablet was recovered. The team reported their findings back to the builders and received some gems as a reward.

Builders.

These people for sure deserved their name. They had a gigantic castle underground, going down deep. That was strange for Tenko. Once again they had to face the made soldiers. As to be expected, these were not made from wood but from stone. Sharp and pointy weapons did little if anything to them. After a while Tenko switched to "iron fists" and dragon stance putting his weapon pair aside for another day. Stone Men did hit hard but the paper dragons prevailed once more and Tenko remembered the old Master: "one chopstick is easy to break but a bundle put together is another story." He smiled thinking perhaps "chopstick dragons" may be a better name than "paper dragons" but then would people think they all had a dragon appetite or that together they would eat as much as a dragon? Yet calling themselves "the little dragons of the Dragon village" was too long and neither intriguing nor poetic.

They had reported the results of their investigation to the clan chief and Tenko would have been happy to leave and smell the trees, feel the wind and see the stars and the moon at night once again. But apparently they had to investigate another matter for the builders. Perhaps they were monsters roaming the levels below at least there was something worth checking but for now Tenko wanted to eat, drink and sleep...

Where did my post go? Lucky I had a backup.

Back from vacation and missing my NWN fix, looking forward to our return next weekend. I estimate that we have somewhere between 2 and 4 sessions left in the Dragon's Village campaign.

I've started working on X-COM 2, using the latest build of the D20 Modern System from Vanya Mia. The game assumes that humanity lost the First Alien War and will begin with the player characters starting a small resistance cell.

Before that will be Assault on Aldera. I am planning on including a revised version of Escape from Chult so that the campaign will take us at least up through 10th level.

Moriko peered over the edge of the chasm.

"It's lots and lots downwards and lots and lots of dark," she commented. "Do you have cat eyes? We will need cat eyes to see in the dark or we will never find the picture he has lost."

She smiled amiably and patted the dwarf on the arm. "There there, we will get the picture back. What was it a picture of?"

"A thousand apologies that we walked past you without even noting your distress," said Wen, after rejoining the others at the Chief Engineer. "We were so focussed on our business that you did not enter our awareness. A grave mistake. 'Although he travels all day, the sage never loses sight of his luggage carts,' said the Wise Man of Water, and we have fallen far of that wisdom today."

He browses the strange book of gem lore he'd found, as others yet gather, and looks up at those there for a moment. "Am I remembering poorly, but was there ever a gemstone in the heart of these elemental men we have fought? I am wondering if this, if this book is part of was what was missing from the Emperor's Tomb."
