Standing against the wall Tian'ith glanced at Zaul'onn as he moved across the room and nodded almost imperceptibly as he reached her side. Glancing back to the others in the room she scowled. This was as far from what she had wanted as it was possible to get.

"You think so?" she muttered to him in Drow. "You missed a near disaster."

"What are they?" She continued with a nod towards Redfang. "The Orc-blood looked competent. He stood his ground and wielded the scimitars reasonably well. For now he could be tolerated." She transferred her gaze to Ravillon. "The ... very large build female there has not yet removed her helm, and though she is speaking our language there is something not right." She shook her head. "I do not know enough to make a judgement but we should be cautious. She did at least maintain her part."

"The little lizard had some casting talent," red eyes now turning to Miiq, "and held steady when things were difficult, but he has an impudent tongue. He might get through the next few days, if he can learn to keep his mouth shut. Perhaps." She paused. "Perhaps."

"The hobgoblin female is another matter," Tian'ith scowled again. "She not only failed to assist but then used the meagre healing supplies we had been given on the cattle we were stealing. Insisted she needed armour as the Derro had given her none, then complained what we gave her was too heavy." She sniffed. "The same complaint you made."

"Some of them might hold as a group but there is no room for any to be a liability," the Drow stated flatly. "Compliance might be necessary for now but this is not going to get any easier." She sighed irritably and turned away. "Someone is going to pay for this, and hard."

Session 3

Redfang looks quite powerful and deadly, at least until he leans over and discharges a truly heroic spume of vomit all over several of the adventurers. The mighty half-orc has to be carried up to his bed by half a dozen derro warriors.

"Sometimes our cuisine requires an... adjustment," is all that Alzari says about the incident. "He will be fine in a few days."

In-character posting awards for this week (includes 50% bonus for full-party posting):
+150xp for Ravillion, Rogha, Zau'lann, and Tian'ith
+225xp for Darsin
+300xp for Miiq

The Eye of The Witch.

What would an old hobgoblin female do with a magic eye? How would she acquire or make such a thing? If it was an animated broom or rope perhaps even a portable hole may be... may be one could believe that was true.

Yet, a live eye that the witch could put in her eye socket or remove at will was far fetched. It was believed that the eye could do things by itself and that the witch would see as if the eye was still attached to here head. Some even ventured to say that the eye could enlarge itself and attack with a kind of magical beam. All this of course was pure fantasy... or was it?

After the ooze thing the team was getting ready to tackle another problem (read nasty monster of the Underdark) they however decided to wait for their "friend" to recover to improve their odds of coming back on their feet.

The attack on the ooze caverns was successful, though the group did get a bit burnt by the ooze in the process. Darsin, seemingly the best armored of the group, had obligingly served in the front rank and led the charges. He'd revived fallen members on a couple of occasions, had gotten gooped and gone down himself while trying to save another member. Fortunately, someone else managed to bandage him up and he drug himself clear to heal himself up. Alas his morning star didn't always seem to do much to the oozes; he would have to consider some alternative ways of dealing with such in the future.

"This is dull. This place is dull. These people are dull." Tian'ith commented to her sister as she stood at the back of the small diplomatic group. Her mother, Matron Mother of House Neldrin, was seated a short distance away in discussion with the Matron of House Dar'ges. The posturing had been going on for an hour already and serious discussion had not yet begun.

"You are alone with your soldiers too much," her older sister replied in a matter of fact tone, "Our mother has decided that with Delrissa dead and you now fourth you must step up. This is will be so, for now." Tian'ith's scowl was ignored but the Drow matron gestured to the small group of elves belonging to their guests. "I myself am in the mood to socialise, which one do you feel would be interesting?"

"You have a one track mind," Tian'ith stated turning her gaze to the members of their guest's entourage and sighing in an exaggerated fashion as her sister's lascivious smile in the direction of one male was met with one of acknowledgement. "Is this absolutely necessary?"

"If we're to move forward then our forces must be able to move as one tactically." The Matron waved her comment away dismissively. "You know that we will all benefit from the shared information this will provide, now stop behaving like a child. You are perfectly aware other arrangements have been made and it's not as if your relationship will be extending beyond liaison." Her sister paused as their mother gestured.

"Yes Mother." Tian'ith moved forward compliantly assuming a superior air as the Matron of House Dar'ges beckoned to one of the males in her entourage. She looked him up and down critically, taking in the robe and rolling her eyes irritably as the mage stopped at his Matron's side.

"Tian'ith, daughter and fourth of our house," she inclined her head a little as she introduced herself while looking at the mage expectantly.

There was a hunger to Miiq, one that would not be sated by meat or mushrooms. He hungered for magic; for power; for knowledge. And so, he spent many of the days and hour between excursions with the derro alchemist, learning what he could, asking questions and observing the fungus-man's experiments with keen, gleaming eyes.

He learned that knowledge was a weapon, sharper than blade. Soon, he would have the chance to put his weapons to test. Soon, he would show them all what he had learned.
