Love the names! Sets a good tone for the characters, which is important since you will all look identical at start. ;)

Whoever submits their character last gets, "The Flatulent One."

Last minute checklist:

Don't forget to
  • Download the haks (d20 Modern set linked in the Player Guide linked on page 1 of this thread, and the tilesets I linked on page 2 of this thread)
  • Put the hak files in the proper folders. Just about everything goes in NWN/hak, but d20 Modern also has /tlk, /music, and /ambient files. The instructions are on the d20 Modern download page, and in the Player Guide.
  • Build a character using the d20 Base Module, according to the specs in the Guide (halfling/gnome, male, white/gray skin, one of the four designated d20M classes) and send the bic file to Vanya Mia via e-mail. If you haven't yet named your character you might want to follow the convention set by your fellow players earlier in this thread.
  • Get ready to shoot plasma guns at humans!
We're back at normal game time for everyone now, I think (7:30 a.m. Pacific Standard).

Until tomorrow!

Flashes of light and color bombarded its dreams as the liquid drained around it. Squinting at the new sensation, at first it didn't move at all. When it did, it moved very deliberately and gracefully, for a newly decanted Sectoid.

Almost completely silently, it moved to the edge of the room away from the others. It watched from the shadows.

(("The Quiet One" sent off to VM))

((Got the server up very early for people to test characters if they want. I am still missing a couple, too! If folk want their sound set changed, but didn't know how, then let me know and I can sort it.))

It had taken 17 local solar cycles longer to develop than the established period for Sectoid gestation, but this was the Great Mind's special project; no flesh-recycling for this one. That had left it with 17 extra days of flash-imprint learning... pictures, images, instant knowledge. Pictures of technology, of the world below and the obstinate wastrel species upon it. And in those last days, the Decantrices had detected a slight abnormality. A response so unsettling to see in a Sectoid, for it was almost Human. An increased heart rate, increased skin-pore excretion rate, a clenched jaw. All consistent with the Human psychological programming-state the Minds had termed 'anger'.

It was easy to tell apart, with its face marked with a creased scowl it had worn in the clone-tank. Upon being released into the Creche's analysis pool, its first action had been to shake its tiny fist. Three solar-cycles in, it had used that same fist to attack another, mind-enslaved Sectoid, because they had walked into one another. It was alarming, and the reports said so. But the Great Mind seemed to take it as a good omen...

((And so was born the Scowling One, a Sectoid, Dedicated in all the wrong ways.))
