Re: X-COM: Aliens
It was a new special project. New sectoids had been made, engineered for a secret purpose. Short, grey humanoids who had been given a mixture of human imprints. Names? Was there a need for that. There was a gathering of them just ahead. Apparently they were waiting or perhaps adjusting to the internal and external environment. S.S.F.F. (Sectoid Short Fat Fast) was among them, a little grey thing who could hardly stand in place as if he was in a sort of slow dance transe...
Re: X-COM: Aliens
Vague flashes of light, a feeling of confinement. Release. The first pleasant sensation.
Re: X-COM: Aliens
The incubation was now complete. Slowly the grey ones emerged from their artificial cocoons. In a circular chamber they met with the Elder who addressed them telepathically on behalf of the Masters. They were told that they were not like the others, they were given some freedom and they were part of a new "program". Soon they moved around the ship learning about forbidden doors, areas and devices. They went to a place to learn the use of blasters, a type or energy weapon. Later, the Elder sent them to The Blue Planet to collect samples. The planet was more green than blue. The sky was blue. They found some Humans with some slaves creatures, a large one on four legs named cow often used to obtain a white liquid substance called milk and a smaller with sharp teeth called dog, a kind of Defender, small but dangerous. SSFF also known as Fast had a stunning weapon. It worked on the human but not on the enslaved Animals. Nevertheless, the Grey Ones collected three samples and returned to the Mother Ship using a kind of shuttle. As a reward they were granted access to knowledge. Fast picked something he remembered from his incubation stage, probably useless compared to weapons but interesting the humans called it "Kung Fu". After downloading the human knowledge, FAST proceeded to the nutrition hall as he was walking the Elder told him that this skill was not for him/it but that it could easily be erased and replaced.
OOC
Will stay on the "Fast Track" (pun intended) and if possible become a floater. May end as Fast/Floater/Tough or something

Re: X-COM: Aliens
Strong sat in the nutrient tank thinking about the night's events. He had help raid a human farm with his fellow grey ones, though he only had vague impressions of what a farm, or even a human was. All he knew was that the Masters wanted samples and he got them samples. The masters said to protect the ship, so he killed everything that was living that they had already gotten a sample from. The masters were pleased and gave them all knowledge. He sighed thinking about what knew knowledge he could get after new missions.
Re: X-COM: Aliens
Twitching and never still, rolling in the fluid of the nutrient tank. Never still, with what might be an expression of eagerness on its face. Hands clench, as if holding something and arms swing, the expression changing to one of satisfaction as it makes a soft, prolonged noise.
"Bzzzzzzzzzzzzz...."
"Bzzzzzzzzzzzzz...."
Re: X-COM: Aliens
The Scowling One dreamed too, floating in amniotic fluid, but there was no contentment, no childlike glee. While being grown it had felt anger, a strange quirk of birth. And on release it had tasted consciousness, and soon after had come self-awareness, and intelligence, and knowledge. It had seen the surface of the Blue Planet and the face of the enemy. And now, it could feel all of this - knowledge, sentience and hate - come together to form one thing: purpose. It knew why it was here.
It had killed the black beast and felt exhilirated. It had seen the bright fluid come from the Humans, and watched, fascinated. It had seen the pieces fall out of the Humans and wanted to know each one, how they worked, how all the things that made a Human worked. So they could be made to not work.
The Scowling One drifted, and dreamed... and schemed.

Re: X-COM: Aliens
The Pale One rested, and was content.
It had pleased the masters. It had flown in strange skies, and met even stranger creatures - and had then proceeded to murder them, as the Masters bade. The secrets that had been whispered into its skull as a reward still echoed around its cranium, as if it were relishing them like a good meal.
It had pretty much been the best day of its brief life. This was not entirely surprising, as it had, by some metrics, been the first dqy of its life. But that did not diminish the satisfaction it currently felt in any way.
