X-COM 2 - 2019 Campaign Thread

A torrent of emotion flooded through Jesse' mind. Disbelief; confusion; despair.
Most of all, though, there was rage. Searing, red-hot rage.
"You fucking coward!" She didn't remember drawing her gun, but there it was, right in her hand. "You absolute moron! What the hell do you think they'll do to you, huh?! What do you think they'll do to us?!"
Her hands trembled trembled, though not with uncertainty. Somewhere in the back of her head, Vic's words were echoing. He was right, of course. They had to run; to do whatever they had to do so they could live to fight another day.
But she knew their odds weren't great. And if she were doomed, anyway, wouldn't it feel better knowing she'd put an end to the damned traitor's life?

Stan grabbed his go bag containing his tools and other essentials, and headed after the others. Cullen's treachery didn't surprise him really; people were so easily twisted to collaborate. If they could get clear of here safely, perhaps they could find a new place to hide out. For the moment, survival was the priority, and surviving was something he was good at.

Session 11
VM said she'd have the server up before she left, so we'll play tomorrow unless it is unavailable. I'll spawn in an NPC version of Bo to fill in until she returns.
+450xp for full party IC posting.

Re: X-COM 2 - 2019 Campaign Thread
I have posted the Strategic Game rules in another thread in this forum, though we won't start with that until after next week's session.
For now, you will all undergo basic training. That will involve familiarizing yourself with the ship, getting an orientation on X-COM operations and protocols, and a quick course on basic tactics. Everyone will receive a free ring that provides Light Armor Proficiency at the start of the next session.

I made a few fixes to the mod and made a change to the interior of the Skyranger, as the previous version was a bit difficult to navigate. Don't be surprised if it looks different next time.

Bo groaned softly as she regained consciousness. The last thing she remembered was following Stan, seeing Advent uniforms come out of nowhere and then ... nothing. She once been told by a patient back in her emergency room days you never heard the bullet that hit you. At the time she'd put it down to fanciful bullshit but perhaps there was more in it than she believed at the time. Either way, while she felt like she'd been run over by a truck at least she was alive.
The lights were low and Bo shifted lightly to relieve pressure on her back and buttocks where they made contact with the medical bed and winced. When she moved there was resistance from her left arm from a cannula inserted in it, so she explored her body for the actual location of damage with her right. A light sheet covered a bandage around her torso and there was a dressing on her left temple.
She paused.
Medical bed? Cannula? Hell, bandages and dressings? They didn't have any of those! She looked around trying to see someone, anyone, anxiety mounting.
"Where the hell am I?"

The base was lost. The ADVENT troopers were here. Everyone still alive had to flee. JD followed the others up the stairs and into the old house. They were now at the door leading outside. There was a moment of hesitation. Fear perhaps was starting to take hold of them. JD felt a presence, movement ib the adjacent room that could not bode well. He tried to focus and listen. Perhaps they were three or four troopers in there. Engaging them would be a bad idea. But hen someone opened fire. How foolish! THe group had no option now but to rush out facing whatever was most likely keepin an eye on the exit and with no way to retreat. “We gonna do a Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid guys!”.
They went and out and down quickly. // Lag monster hit me pretty hard at that moment.
JD was barely conscious. Somenthing strange was happening, troopers were shooting at each other. Why would ADVENT “people” do that? And then all went black...
// Any idea why I could not get back in the game?

Re: X-COM 2 - 2019 Campaign Thread
Daud once again found himself in a very strange place with very strange people asking him to enlist. And, once again, he had nowhere else to go. So... X-COM or whatever they called themselves it would be for him. They could decide against fighting, but they couldn't leave.
Daud was tempted to take up a mop and let someone else get shot, but... his time with Angela's resistance had changed him. Hardened him a little. Killed him inside a little more. He was feeling a strange cocktail of emotions. On one hand, this place was an impressive and semi well organized military machine in a re-purposed alien ship. But on the other hand, despite how much better equipped they were to strike at ADVENT, it still seemed just as hopeless. There didn't seem to be any light at the end of this tunnel.
Despite this hopelessness, Daud was more determined to hurt ADVENT than ever. Even if they couldn't do much damage in the end. At least he could still hurt them.

"Hey, Bo." Victor was there, sitting nearby in the cramped medbay; one of a few, making the most of the small space. There he was, pretending to smoke a pencil, wearing an unfamiliar uniform. "The doctor here said you'd be wakin' up today."
"We, uh, got rescued by some angels. They pulled some of us out. Part of that 'bigger fight' we got teased on, ha." A shadow of grimness passes over his face, but he keeps the smile up as well as he can. "We're on their ship. Some sort of old alien ship they stole. Seems like we're among friends. How're you feeling?"
