Gamespy and server listings

Post by Dragonstar » Mon Dec 10, 2012 12:08 am

It is my understanding that Gamespy has recently stopped listing server names. Servers can still be accessed through Direct Connection or through History. You can connect through the IP address as always.

Charles, I haven't paid attention because I've always connected through Gamespy, but is your IP address always the same?

It's certainly remained in my history. And that explains the loss of them for my machine, I had believe it because of Windows 7 set incorrectly. :( They do seem to want to kill off the game, don't they.

Yeah, pretty much. A couple of DMs that I've talked to said that this will certainly kill off their wandering foot traffic, and could eventually kill their servers off. Ah, well, Charles and his merry band of players will still be doing this when we're all old and gray. Wait! Too late for me! *snicker*

My IP address should be variable, but the history tab seems to work just fine in any case.

If that goes, I'll just post the IP address each session, so no problem.
