Campaign restarting...eventually

Also, I will remind folks that the Super Bowl is on Feb. 5th, the week AFTER Jan. 29th. We used to have a couple of football fiends who cared about that kind of thing. Not me, but I am just saying...

Actually Jaokith let me know (he should post eventually) that he'd need until the 29th as well. So an extra week for us all to prepare. I'll post a background / summary for everyone on the forum this weekend.

If folks have Super Bowl parties etc. to go to, no problem with that on Feb 5th.

As far as Super Bowl Sunday... At this time I'm not sure about it. Will have to let everyone know.

Just found out that we may be able to get one or more of our UK players back, in which case we'd need to negotiate a start time on Sundays that is other than 8:00 PM EST (which would be 1:00 AM there, normally there's a 5 hour time difference with the Eastern U.S.)

Believe the best time window would therefore be from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM EST, to have a shot at accommodating everyone. Please post your thoughts on this, however, as I want to respect any other commitments people may have.

For now we'll maintain the Jan 29 restart date, but if people would prefer it I'm also OK with bumping the restart to Feb 12 (Feb 5 being the Super Bowl) and making that a hard date (i.e. will definitely happen then), to give everyone time to get back up to speed on their plans and trickle back in.

Yes, sorry folk. Things have been hectic for one reason or another here, so by the time I was able to think about it sensibly it looked like you had moved the time - so I did not comment. If you are open to a more UK friendly time I could probably manage a couple of hours later as a start time (so up to about 4:30 start your time).

However, I would rather not make things awkward now you have got going again, that wouldn't be fair and I would sooner not play if it lets you go ahead in comfort. So if any single one of you would find it inconvenient to move earlier in the day then just say. I fully understand.

We managed to get the time zone thing OK (if not perfect) the last time around, so hopefully even with new developments (i.e. infants) in the picture we can figure out a start time that works for everyone interested in playing.

That shouldn't be a problem. If there are obligations, like with family and what have you, I'll let everyone know as soon as possible.

I have no objections to shifting the starting time to a later or earlier time, whatever is easier for the majority.

As for moving the starting date to Feb. 5th for those who do not give a flying flipp about the Super Bowel, that is fine for me, as well as Feb. 11 as the hard start night.

OK, so far it seems that a start time anywhere from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM EST (11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Pacific time, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM UK time) would work. I would suggest going with the earlier time, unless that would interfere with UK dinner time.

Would like to hear from everyone to confirm 100% the time and the restart date; I sent Ken a reminder and hopefully Smart Alec can participate as well. Our top choices for the restart date at this point are next Sunday (Jan 29) and Feb 12 (after the Feb 5 Super Bowl).

I am usually available by 2:00 EST. Every few weeks have an extended family dinner which may interfere but I can just turn up a little late for those sessions.

None of the start dates are a problem for me.
