There is a well deep in the forest.

An ancient pile of rubble stands several yards away from well. At one time, the well had been covered in an obvious effort to prevent unwanted accidents. The well covering was now, however, shattered in many places and scattered in all directions.

A dainty coal-black mare stood next to one of wider broken spaces. She was making no moves other than to peer intently into the gloomy depths.

"If I hear even one sardonic horse laugh out of you, little lady, and I am going to climb out of this well, whether I am able to or not, and kick your butt! Do you understand?"

The voice rising from the depths of the well was female, and broken in various spaces which would seem to indicate that the speaker was either in pain or was trying to climb up the slippery rock sides of the well. Either could be accurate. The mare lifted her head to study the surrounding terrain, nostrils flared to detect danger encroaching. Nothing . . . or was there?

Tis me, Rahnee, coming to you live (for the moment) from the bottom of a mucky, slimy well somewhere it was unexpected.

As you may or may not have noticed, my attendance at our weekly meeting has been pretty nonexistent, much to my annoyance. My apologies. There's not much more for me to add. I was really looking forward to the campaign restart. I am having some medical problems raise their spooky little snouts once again. I am sure it will straighten out -- eventually.

I will get back soon, hopefully. In the meantime, I am sure that Charles will come up with something truly nefarious for all of us. Please take care of yourselves and all those new little babies.
