Re: Vanya Mia's Ship of the Silver Void Campaign
Darick looked at the over-sized sextant, seemingly lost in thought. "So this thing works like this: we point the lens in the direction we want the ship to go, it then sends that to the navigator's chair, and that person relays it to the ship itself. I think our speed and stability are determined by the navigator, so Ash, you may want to sit in that chair; I'd rather not be tossed around again with Zaine there." He looked around at the "crew" and nodded at the smithy before continuing, "That lady said she would reward us if we brought her to Sigil and from what that walking eyeball told us, that's where we're headed anyway. Now that we've killed or chased off the old crew, we might see about finding a door home or how to steer this damned thing back to the prime material plane."

My steerin wasn't that bad.. *mutters under his breath*
Re: Vanya Mia's Ship of the Silver Void Campaign
Darick smirked. "No, it was worse."
Re: Vanya Mia's Ship of the Silver Void Campaign
All this talk of pointing this and steering that has confused Ash and it shows on his face. He reluctanly frees his hold on a stanchion. "You want me sit in chair?" He scratches his head then shrugs his shoulders and ambles over to the chair. He smiles as he rmembers something and proudly declares, "Forward", thinking wiht all his might to hurry so they can get home.

Chiun gazed into the glowing blue something-or-other for a long time. A serene calm settled on the old monk's face.
"I will stay with the ship," he said abruptly. "Go to your doors, knowing that your latest temporary home waits for you safely." With that announcement, he turned back to his meditations.
OOC: I'm out this week and probably next as well. Happy adventuring!

Din hadn't really counted on the Githyanki abandoning ship. He didn't even know they -could- abandon ship. He had to wonder what happened to you when you just jumped into the astral like that. Perhaps the Gith were specially able to do it. They seemed to possess the ability to become invisible and maybe even teleport too.
So they were left with no knowledge of the ship. Miraculously, they were able to figure out how to move it at least. Perhaps they could find someone that could tell them more about the mechanics of the ship where they were going.

Back to Sigil. It looked as though they were walking around the rim of some great cosmic ring, a circle that always seemed to take them back to where they had started.
Finding a way home was going to be complicated. He did not even know what his own world-realm was called, other than it was one of the "Primes" that were constantly referenced here on the outer planes.

Circles. They were moving in circles, Darick thought. First they were almost destroyed by a world cataclysm. Then when they went to check out the aftermath, they were attacked by the lost souls of that world's former inhabitants. Now they were being tasked with going back to the world they barely escaped in an effort to determine what caused the event, but at least this time they were promised better gear. Darick didn't mind adventuring, having done his fair share in service to Tyr, but he knew that he and his companions would need better equipment and soon. Otherwise none of them would make it out alive. "The Gods have a sense of humor it seems" he muttered to himself as he settled in as the ship made its way to their newest employer.
