As the Team debated the next course of action, the xenos insects poured from the holes and attacked the Team. The Team performed a fighting retreat and escaped the enraged xenos. Reaching another part of the service tunnels, the servitors in the shuttle sent a distress call to the team informing them that green skin xenos were attacking the shuttle.
Sprinting back to the location of the shuttle, the team ran into a group of Orks trying to board the shuttle. A melee ensued with the ork warboss and a few retainers retreating back into the Hulk.
The team entered the shuttle and resupplied, then ventured back into the Hulk to try and find a path then lead deeper into the depths of the Hulk. After several hours of searching they decided to venture into the Ork territory of the Hulk to search there. Expecting a prolonged battle, the Team was pleasantly surprised to find their plan had worked. Ork bodies littered that section of the Hulk, apparently dead from lack of a breathable atmosphere. They did not there was not as many bodies as they expected. The Team did locate another route and entered into an access tunnel than was partially collapsed, but managed to crawl through it and entered another section of the Hulk... an asteroid that had intermingled with the Hulk.
They explored a one route but wanted to cover all bases and ventured down a side branch only to find loose rubble had obstructed the path. After examining the collapsed section, Severian determined there was a 70-80 percent chance they could blow the obstruction away without collapsing the tunnel. Now they debate whether they should try and blow the obstruction or venture deeper into the asteroid part of the Hulk.

Garm set the charge quickly. Sure, there was a chance this wouldn't end well, but really, who expected any of this to end well? Garm's best hope was that he would go down with his blade lodged in Victus' chest... If the Hulk and it's dangers didn't get them all first.

Acantha frowned a little as the charges were set. "Is this the option we desire?" she asked. "I myself would consider that the object of the heretic's journey is more likely to lie in the technology of the original craft, but set alongside any risk of collapsing the rest of the blockage is the risk of alerting further abominations to our presence."
"We know that this asteroid has two breaches through the structure," she added, "thus it is entirely likely there are others that these..." she spat on the nearest ork corpse, "...creatures were using to move around. It must be set against a delay caused by the search, and the alternative risk of encountering abominations upon the path, but might it be worth the exploration before taking this course?"

Severian looks up from his work. "A good point, well reasoned," he states. "Whatever the Orks have taken, however, merits investigation. Something that was the focus of a psychic phenomena - as you claim - may be pertinent to our work here. Besides that, locating the heretic on board ship - assuming he is on board - will be a long-term undertaking. And, any progress may be preferable to none, given that another ship may be landing here. It is, of course, open to debate. Simply not for long."

Zeevja chuckled.
"So eager to light the fuse," she mused. "So eager to make things come crashing down. But then, we do not yet know why this Hulk is significant. Any path may arm us with more knowledge, and any path is equally likely to lead us to our quarry... in time, at least."
The Psyker tilted her head, as if considering her own words.
"Either way we go, then, amounts to a throw of the dice. Only one option has more explosions."
Zeevja chuckled.

Light the fuse indeed as a massive explosion rocked the tunnel within the asteroid and revealed a steel doorway. Entering the doorway trepidly, the team found a small room that contained broken crates and a skeleton with a sword lodged between its ribs. A through search revealed a couple useful objects - archeotech in the form of a Jokero Force Ring and several warp vortex grenades.
Moving forth with fresh questions, the team encountered more Orks, however these were fleeing from someone or something. Quickly disposing the filthy xenos, the team were greeted a by an eerie howl issuing from from the rock cleft from which they were about to enter. Scouting ahead, Acantha encountered a warp beast of some form and the team destroyed it.
However, the beast had a master of mistress perhaps as a group of Dark Elder Wyches assaulted the team, dancing quickly in to engage and then leaping back out of harms reach. The battle begin in earnest as the team fought the Wyches only to encounter the Warriors of the Dark Elder. A running battle began, ensuing for several hours as the team fought their way to where the Dark Elder had entered the Hulk, eventually forcing the Dark Elder to retreat off the Hulk.
But doubts formed in the team's mind as perhaps the Elder had already obtained the objective, the piece of the deadly chaos weapon that Victus was hunting for and now the piece perhaps lay with the treacherous Dark Elder. While musing these dark thoughts, a rumbling begin to shake the the Hulk, causing several mini earthquakes forcing the team to retreat the way the had come. Only fate has worked against them, sealing them inside the Hulk and forcing them to venture forwards in hopes of an alternative path.
Several hours of searching the cold dark asteroid lead them to an old pitted bulkhead of a ship imbedded into the asteroid. Having no choice, the team blasted their way through the bulkhead and into the very bowels of an ancient vessel, the bilges. Now the team plots their best way to cross the cavernous spaces between the time worn and rotting landings to move out of the bilges.

The more Garm thought about it, the more he was sure the Dark Eldar didn't obtain the relic. When the team had encountered them, they were barely into the hulk. Yes, they seemed to have advanced teleportation tech with, but they would have to know to where they are teleporting as far as Garm understood the technology.
More likely the team had caught the Eldar early and Victus was the closest one to the relic now. Still, they had seen almost no sign of Victus at all on the Hulk.

++Imperial Scout Emperors Lance++
++5 days into picket patrol along side the Space Hulk Damocles++
++ Bridge Compartment++
A large blinding flash fills the view screen where the space hulk had formally filled. First Officer Chalek blinked in surprise, the light pattern still present behind his eyelids. Opening his eyes again he bellows "Report!"
A servitor answers in a monotone voice, its eyes never leaving the console before it.
"An explosion 1.5 kilometers on the facing side of the Space Hulk. Intensity level 4.78. A portion of the hulk is floating away from the bulk."
An adept steps from the shadows and approaches the First Officer whispering into his ear. A look of consternation crosses the Chalek's face before he strides over to the Communications Officer.
"Attempt to contact the Inquisitional agents to determine their status Vonderoy" Speaking to the young communications officer.
"Aye Aye Sir" Vonderoy turns to his console and begins to send the ident codes to the team.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Aboard the Space Hulk the team spends a considerable amount of time trying to cross the voids and pipes of the bilge with a few near mishaps including the accidental summoning of a Lesser Daemon by the psyker Zeevja. Finally exiting the bilge, the team finds themselves in a long corridor with many hatches. Exploring these hatches hoping to find a way to continue, the team drops into a large tank containing millions of gallons of promethium.
A warp ghost of a former crew member was in that hold - his horribly burned flesh still reeking as he cackled and caused a flame to ignite the promethium in a large explosion. The team was burned and thrown out of the hold in the explosion - though all survived. However, they found themselves in a piece of hulk that was floating away from the main body.
Exiting through a crack in the bulkhead, the team made a short spacewalk where they reentered the hulk. Collapsing and catching their breath, the team debates the next move.
After catching their breath, the team moved forward through the narrow hallways into a large expanse - an engine room. Ancient silent machines lay at intervals, as silent as the tomb which enclosed them. Zeejva fine psyker senses twinged and a warp echo began. The ghostly image of a lone tech priest making his rounds between the silent machines till he was greeted by Severian's binary chatter. One by one the ancient machine spirits of the engines begin to run and the automated defense systems came on line. Ancient but powerful weapons rose from dust covered floors preparing to do mass damage to the intruders (the Team). The ghostly tech priest vanished into the wall as the team ran down the engine room trying to escape. As each compartment they entered the ancient engines began to move once again until the team left the engine compartment to a room crushed and blocked by tons of rock.
Trapped and with no recourse, they turned back to transverse the multiple engines rooms, but the warp echo had passed and the ancient machines were as quiet as they had been for centuries, the machine spirit lay dead within each one. Leaving the engine room, the team moved through old maintenance tunnels until the encountered a stair and entered deeper into the old ship. Exiting into a gunnery room, the team encountered another warp ghost, this of a little child who tried to warn the team to turn back.
Not that phased by the ghost's warning, the team progress until they found an elevator shaft that lead upward into inky blackness. To make matters worse, promethium rained down the shaft and puddled at the bottom. Acantha taking the lead, began to ascend the shaft via the old rickety ladder. Reaching the first ledge, she slipped on the promethium slicked floor and plummeted to the bottom. Not deterred, she began to ascend the shaft again reaching the top without further incident. The others began to follow with Zeevja falling once and Severian falling twice.
Having transversed that obstacle, the team progressed again until reaching another ship that had crashed into the larger ship and blocking the hallway. Finding an maintenance hatch, Acantha crawled through it and explored the other ship. Seeing no immediate danger, she called the others in. Exploring the ship, the team discovered some imperial supplies - ammo and medical supplies in addition to a weapon or two. The Emperor Provides!
Finding another rent in the ship, the team exited into what seemed to be an asteroid. The moved down the narrow tunnels until they found an immense cavern filled with molten rock. The heat was devastating and could be felt even through their power armor. Zeevja began to feel strange as the team moved deeper into the cavern. Finding an exit they moved into a larger cavern where a battle had recently taken place. Dark Elder and human corpses could be seen littered over the ground. Examination of the corpses revealed they were in the employ of Victus Magnus. The next sight took they breath away along with perhaps a bit of their courage. An gigantic steel pyramid rose from a ledge bathed with an sickening green glow. Garm stammered the word Necron and the team all stared at him. Zeevja was feeling worse as she tried to explain the absence of warp surrounding this place.
Gathering their remaining courage, the team entered the gigantic steel tomb of a pyramid and were greeted by technology which none had ever seen. The doors were blocked by a green energy field. Severian attempted to deactivate the doorway and was successful. A couple more doorways lead them to the nightmare... rows upon rows of Necrons.. apparently in stasis. Now what will the team do? And will Brand ever wake up from being unconscious?
Nothing more boring than picket patrol thought First Officer Chalek as he made his patrol along the bridge. At least they got to chase away some scavengers a few hours ago. Finishing his circuit of the bridge, he went and refilled his recaf cup and sipped the bitter fluid slowly so he wouldn't burn his mouth. The recaf was the only thing keeping him halfway alert after 10 hours of being on duty and the thought of his bed made him sigh softly.
An alert signal roused him from his musing. "Report" he said.
" A medium sized vessel exiting from the warp sir. Heading.." a pause as the young ensign viewed his screen "... their coming our way sir. No ident codes flashing."
"Ready battle stations. Awaken the Captain" Chalek said as he set his recaf down and made his way to the consoles.
Deactivating the last force barrier, the team moved through the rows and rows of deactivated necrons like ghosts. Finding a console different from the others, Severian merged with the alien machine spirit and garnered some cooperation - the location of the part within the necron ship, a location of another piece of the device, and how to operate the teleport system of the ship.
Using the teleport system, the team transported to another section of the ship only to be greeted by more rows of sleeping Necrons. They worked their way through the snaking room until the team found another transport system and used it. This time they transported into a full scale battle between the Dark Elder raiders and the mercenaries of Victus. Victus grabbed the part and jumped through a warp gate before the team could apprehend him. The Dark Elder departed quickly after that to leave the team to face the now awakened Necrons.
The team fought the Necrons while Severian tried to use the teleporter to get the team out of the mess. The situation looked desperate as more Necrons joined the fray until a timely arrival of a Death Watch team. The Space Marines threw themselves into the fray with the righteous fury of the Emperor delaying them long enough until the team and the Death Watch could teleport out to a waiting Inquisitional vessel.
Catching their breath, the team was shocked to see a different Inquisitor who had them quickly secured within a holding cell. One by one, she interrogated the team and then placed them in a briefing room. Further discussion was about to develop between the team and Inquisitor Shalyne, but Inquisitor Dane arrived and demanded his team's release. A heated discussion occurred between the two Inquisitors, but Dane got his way and he and the team departed to another vessel.
Aboard the shuttle Inquisitor Sol Dane looks at his weary kill team before speaking in a mild tone, the anger he had displayed earlier now gone.
"Give me a brief rundown on the past few weeks.”
