DMFI project focus - November 2018

Having just been revived, the DM-Friendly Initiative (DMFI) needs to reconstitute itself as a useful project supporting DM-led gaming in the NWN community.

For those looking to contribute to its three mission areas / teams - Design, DM Training, and Review - you can see more details here: viewtopic.php?f=65&t=974 and are welcomed to PM me or post here.

In the short term, I intend to focus on consolidating and updating here references to all of the existing DMFI resources in each of the three areas. They were scattered around the web after the demise of the infrastructure behind the old Bioware Guild and then the Bioware Social boards, so I expect it will take a bit of time and effort to get it all back in one place and update things like the download links. Neverwinter Vault admin has already been helpful in getting access restored to my old NWVault content that migrated across to the new site.

How quickly any new projects can be scoped will be up to new Team members and what they want to take on. Some suggested priorities are listed below, with some of the tasks assigned to myself for ongoing/future action.

Design Team
* Identify a Team Lead and any other scripters desiring to contribute to officially updating the DMFI 1.09 Wands and Widgets package for NWN:EE / NWN.
* Develop DMFI base mod package for NWN:EE
* Work with Beamdog on the technical compatibility of future NWN:EE builds with the DM client and scripted DMFI tools

DM Training
* Update DMFI 101 mod for NWN:EE [assigned to Carlo]
* Consolidate and update DMFI DM references [assigned to Carlo]

Review Team
* Generate clean master list of DMFI-certified modules on Neverwinter Vault [assigned to Carlo] - Completed
* Engage with Neverwinter Vault admin to restore DMFI certification banners and official module list on the Vault [assigned to Carlo] - Completed

The above list is roughly in priority order, in terms of what I think can make the most impact in terms of community contributions at this point in time. It's also by no means exhaustive, and DMFI contributors are encouraged to suggest new, creative projects.

I don't see any information about this on NW Vault forums Carlo. It might be a good idea to post this information or if you've set it up as a project there to raise awareness on the forums. The site is much, much busier than here.

Will note that the two action items under the Review Team have now been completed, with the Neverwinter Vault DM-Friendly module listing having been updated: https://neverwintervault.org/article/re ... d-dec-2018

Thanks to the Vault admin for their time and effort in updating both the linked article and all of the individual mod pages. A DMFI banner link is also now on the Vault's home page.
