Yeah, that sites brilliant, I go there every few months to check out the latest and laugh myself silly. :D

Anyways, guess what I picked-up the other day for under $20 (AUS)? The Fallout Collection, not that I have any time to play it, I've barely started Oblivion, but good and inexpensive games that will actually run on my comp (NWN2 will barely run on my comp let alone anything from 2008) are too tempting to turn down.

Anyways, I was quite pleased to find that, it includes Fallout, Fallout 2 & Fallout Tactics - which all seem to run fine. Now I just have to figure out which patches to get, official or fan-made? :?: There seem to be a few about.

At the very least, get the official patches if the games don't already come with them. Most of the fan made ones require the latest patches.

I finished Fallout! 8-)
It was good, if frustrating at times, although it is pretty fun hiding behind enemies and watching them blast each other to bits.

The ending didn't work properly, it goes 'blah blah ending his mad dream-' and then a whole lot of silent cutscene images, and then 'The Brotherhoo-', and then it goes to the ending conversation with the overseer. That was annoying, plus the lack of a quest journal and map notes didn't help move the game along too well. I still liked it though; especially the setting.
But I like BG better. Anyways, hmm what next. Fallout 2 or Fallout Tactics.

Fallout Tatics was Interplay's attempt at creating a squad based combat game. Skip it and go with Fallout 2.

... go through the last bit of Fallout again, but initiate combat with the Vault 13 guy right between the end of the conversation and the credits or play again with the Blood Mess perk. You get secret ending.

I couldn't find a way to initiate combat (seems to go into cutscene mode so you can't do anything when he walks away), but I watched the overseer death on youtube. He gets shot in half, is that the secret ending? 8-)

Since we're up to the final mod for TDV, and even though it should keep us going for a couple of months, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what we might think about playing next? I only like to run mods that are completely built and have full DM documentation though (way too much work to make my own). :P

I was thinking about three that I may run:

Guns, Goblins and Steel: the party starts out as military operatives in Iraq hunting down a terrorist leader. While there, they're transported to a land of magic and steel. I may remove the first part and just put the party into the world as mercenaries answering the summons of a local Duke.

The Siege of Aldera: you're a down on your luck adventurer who has come across a scroll from Aldera requesting help. You pack up your meager belongings and book the first boat there.

X-COM: you're a member of an elite, top-secret squad formed to battle a potential alien invasion. This uses the D20 system, so I may hold off on it until 2.0 is out.

I have two other ideas I've kicked around at one time or another:

A Fallout 2 conversion type campaign: I have the start of this ready but since it uses D20 content, it may be better to wait.

A more traditional fantasy game where you start out as the defenders of a local city. This one is only partly started, but I should be able to get at least the first part ready in time.

Let me know what we're doing.

Hope everyone enjoyed their holidays! 8-)

I now have NWN2 Mask of the Betrayer and NWN2 Storm of Zehir, the only problem is my comp died before Xmas and the comp I'm using now isn't powerful enough to run NWN2. But my dad is going to let me use his laptop to play them, so yay! :D

Anyways, at the moment I playing Beyond Good and Evil, which I'm really enjoying.

It was okay.

I'm about ready (after my long hiatus) to start getting back into NWN campaigns, so that's good! Which reminds me, I'd really like to pick up Storms of Zehir sometime.

And I spent New Years Eve (after my fiance' went to bed at about 12:01) staying up and watching zombie flicks and playing Left 4 Dead. :D
