Saturday Morning Guns, Goblins, and Steel
Moderator:Lazybones
Another demon faction, another side to consider, another promise of a way home. It was all sounding too familiar to Junior and he was beginning to feel they were never going to get out of this place. Sarge's near death experience hadn't seemed to cool his jets at all and he continued to boldly go forward ahead of the more stealthy scouts - with predictable results. Junior kept looking around hoping the missing priest would turn up once more; anything to tip the odds in their favor at this point would be welcome.

Re: Saturday Morning Guns, Goblins, and Steel
As Juntars spirit stood over his rapidly cooling remains, he idly wondered if this was all according to Soleus's plan. He decided he'd take the time to relax a bit. It had all been a bit stressful lately, all this running around hell and whatnot. If he was to return to life and to the work of the father it would happen in its own time. So he decided he would sit back and wait, and watch what happened next.
Re: Saturday Morning Guns, Goblins, and Steel
Perhaps Kemal was dreaming and he would soon wake but again perhaps not.
He remembered a plan about a gate to allow the Fire Demons a.k.a. the Red to step into the Cold Demons a.k.a. Blue Demons fortress. If that plan was executed, The Red would avoid the bitter cold that seemed to affect them and bring enough forces in the heart of the Blue fortress to wipe out any resistance... Would this plan be executed, the Red would probably take over the Blue headquarter and get rid of the humans who had no more leverage. For Kemal, the best would have been to inform the Blue somehow to let them set a trap or at least to open the gate somewhere in the frozen waste to even the odds. It should have been possible to hide somewhere and watch both factions wipe out each other. Instead of that Sarge and Magda had managed to turn both sides against them and kill everybody. Junior had vanished perhaps on the way back to eat some mushrooms. Kemal, with the help of Mother Nature had avoided the worse. Now he had to find Junior and find a good place to hide. Would the snake lady grant them asylum?

Re: Saturday Morning Guns, Goblins, and Steel
Remember no session this week. I will be back from my vacation for the July 21 session. I know karvon is out but we'll continue as long as everyone else can make it.
Re: Saturday Morning Guns, Goblins, and Steel
Everyone had heard her scream... but only Junior had noticed her slide out and collapse in the shadows of the gate.
Panic set in.
Not realizing the others hadn't seen her return, he frantically tried to tend to her injuries.
Meanwhile, Sarge charged thru the gates only to stumble out moments later with a pack of fire demons in hot pursuit.
The demons torched them as he was bandaging the LT and she was gone, he was on fire and the others were going down all around him.
Junior ran and the flames followed, thought the cold seemed to slow them down some, so he out distanced them after a while.
He stopped to catch his breath, then examined and treated his burns. Feeling better, he cautiously retraced his steps and came across Sarge in a running skirmish with one of the demons. He gave support with his bow, but his arrows didn't seem to strike very often or with much effect. The demon started chasing him, so he broke off and once more got clear.
Then there was silence. Just the wind, the snow and the ice.
He back tracked slowly towards stronghold, but found no one. He waited and watched from a secure vantage point for a while, and no one appeared. He was alone.
Junior pondered his options only briefly; there really wasn't much choice.
He turned and headed back to the snake woman's lair. She was the only one who'd seemed reasonable in their negotiations in this hell. He would simply have to offer his services to her in exchange for whatever reasonable life she would grant him in the domain. It wasn't much of a life, but at least it would be life.
//occ: Should be back on 8/4.
//good luck!

Ice, fire, and then shadows. But shadows were a place of respite. Quiet places, dark places, where no one could find you. Secure, untouchable, safe. She fell into the dark ... comforted.
