The team was sent on another mission that started within the Hive to capture a rogue Noble who was dabbling with Chaos. They killed the noble and found he had grafted a daemon arm to his body. Following the leads found there, the team sent forth for Barasapine. Arriving there, they spent some time in the Citadel of Light researching more leads which lead them to Haematite Cathedral.
Spending a week in the Citadel and chasing out the warp spirits there, they discovered that the citadel was actually an Imperator Titan that was half buried by the sea and was a prison for a daemon - the daemon whose arm was grafted to the noble. Working furiously, the team was able to reactivate the Titan and fought the daemon defeating it. The titan marched to The Citadel of Light and destroyed it revealing the Black Sepulchre which was a device created by a long dead rogue trader to translate the information regarding a cult that an other inquisitor had uncovered. The information revealed that Arch Cardinal Ignatus, the Ecclesiarchy ruler of the sector, was the head of the Maledictor's Hand. A cult whose intent was, and still is to bring about such religious strife that the resulting war and upheaval will effectively destroy the sector and kill billions of its sinful inhabitants. Unfortunately, the device broke preventing the team from having hard prof against the Arch Cardinal.
The team presented what they had found out to Inquisitor Chane. The Inquisitor sent them undercover to investigate the Arch Cardinal at the Citadel of Illumination. They are to pose as investigators of holy relics. Arriving at the Citadel, they were greeted by Archivist Drook who lead them to their rooms after having them listen to a sermon by the Arch Cardinal. The team settled in and then went to the Sacristy to "investigate" the relics. While there, Kastian spotted something and Severian discovered a hidden message in a video feed. Before he could share the info, the team was approached by Lector Xavieticus and asked to help the Excorcist remove a daemon from his life long friend Cauis Moy. The team helped remove the daemon by participating in an exorcism, however Cauis Moy died. Will Lector reveal the info he had promised to team for helping Cauis?

After telling Lector, the team received the promised information - some intercepted transmission.s Not damning enough, the team was forced to investigate further. They wandered the Cathedral and eventually found themselves back at the Sacristy. They examined the relics further and found one was definitely fraudulent. While heading back to their room, the team was summoned to see the Arch Cardinal. A quick trip to the room so they could talk with the Sister Dialogous in orbit, the team ventured to the Synod Hall for their meeting. Their the team was questioned regarding the artifacts in the Sacristy. After the meeting, they returned to the room to discuss the events so far.

The team had found the forging room and it's fake religious material. The books were highly inflammatory and expanded on the right audience, would cause mass religious hysteria - perhaps engulfing the whole sector. As Garm made his request to speak with Inquisitor Chane through secured channels, Severian inspected the scribe servitors to see if they had recording capabilities. After a brief examination, Severain asserted the servitors did not have that function, but did notice the servitors were covered with surgical scars and dressed in plain white medical smocks. Further examination found tattoos identifying them as being educated at a Schola Progenitum habitat. Additionally they also had lines from prayers tattooed or scarred into them suggesting that the bodies belong to clergy.

The loose papers lying along side the servitors appear to be pages from a book titled The Visions of St. Drusus. Garm received a short terse message commanding them to return to the Merciless Justice. Having no choice the Team exited the crypt shortly before the Cathedral started awakening.. Finding Archivist Drook, Garm made his excuses for leaving - being called away on another verifying assignment and asked if he could return the Sacred Femur to the Arch Cardinal. Archivist Drook informed Garm that the Arch Cardinal had left shortly before dawn on some Eccleisarchy business and that he would return the bone to the Sacristy. Garm promised to send the Archivist a detailed report of thier findings and then the team boarded the shuttle to return to the Merciless Justice.

The next leg took the acolytes to the underhive of Gun Metal City in search of the forger Venomskin. The acolytes spent several days in the scorching heat of Blinding Gulch learning the lay of the land and how to best find the forger. While there, they discovered the two most powerful gangs were being influenced by chaos and xenos. The gangs were set to fight it out to see which one of them would rule the resources of Blinding Gulch. The gang war commenced leaving the acolytes as the final victor and they destroyed the surviving gang leaving the citizens of Blinding Gulch to run their city without gang influence. They were able to find Venomskin, but arrived too late as the Arch Cardinal had him killed by an assassin. However, the acolytes did find damning evidence on the Arch Cardinal and now headed back to the Merciless Justice to report to the Inquisitor.
