See we rescue the Lt and now she is gone again
IC
They had gone in the crypt. The whole team minus the Lt and Majid plus two bears. The crypt was small, there was a small covenant of "fangers", vampires or vampyres. They might be called one way or another but they were no less dangerous. The bears followed the people in. The place smelled like death. The animals wanted to go out but somehow they stayed venturing further into the lair. At some point the creatures attacked but they were defeated. They did not smell or taste good it was better not eat any of that. The bears knew that there was a clear stream not too far with fresh salmon waiting to be picked. the place became quiet. The humans started to speak and break things around. It seemed like amusing game so the bears joined in breaking some dead wood things. One female human showed up. She had a familiar scent. The humans then spent some time playing with shiny things while the two bears were on the way out to play . Later that day the entire group returned to the camp and reported their success...

Re: Saturday Morning Guns, Goblins, and Steel
Junter spent the night before thier depature making his final prayers and preperations, readying himself for the trial to come. A trip into the heart of the ruined city and the headquaters of the enemy. This would be no easy task, but Soleus willing, they would end this madness.
Re: Saturday Morning Guns, Goblins, and Steel
After Junior finished checking his gear and supplies, he drew and examined the large sword he'd picked up on the last mission. He'd practiced a bit with it and gotten fairly used to it, but still didn't feel as natural with it as with his long sword. It was heavier and seemed sharper though, so he figured the more he used it, the sooner it'd become second nature to him.
Re: Saturday Morning Guns, Goblins, and Steel
All right, no more rescue missions. At this rate we'll be here until 2013...

Re: Saturday Morning Guns, Goblins, and Steel
Junior had half-expected the priest to get fried when he confronted the glowing force field. Well, so far so good he thought to himself, as the force field disappeared. he couldn't help but wonder what other strange monsters they'd have to deal with inside the temple.
Dead City
At last they had returned after a trip to hell but the city was nothing like what they had left. Broken walls, empty streets, undead creatures. Majid remembered the hot bath he had in the palace and the good food they enjoyed. They did not expect any of these. It was time to go in, find that priest and restore the balance...

Re: Saturday Morning Guns, Goblins, and Steel
Magda still had a grim smile on her face as she approached the door. The Abyssal fireseeds had been worth holding on to for so long, bringing them one troubled step closer to destroying the man who had brought such great harm to these people .... then she paused.
It was so like that last mission. Releasing the Hellfire missiles on the compound, knowing that people down there were running while they burned, all in the name of taking down the one person at the route of all their troubles. Brought there to do a job as a faceless soldier by a man who, despite ruling a good people living under values she held dear, she had no personal faith in. Doing the right thing for all the wrong reasons, at the cost of comrades in arms. Momentarily the parallels shook her and for the first time in a long time doubt arose.
She looked at the remnants of the squad around her. Unknown until that day though now valued companions, and remembered comparisons made. Remembered the portal that had simply returned them here to a worsening situation and not 'home'. The Lieutenant looked at the thin blade in her hand, and the clothes she wore. A tiny pocket knife to become a keen blade of both fire and ice, and garments designed to help hide her away. Everything she could have wished for to conceal and defend.
Finally she looked at the door again. Beyond there was perhaps what stood in the way of her 'return', be it from a real land of strangeness and wonder or something she had made for herself in her head. Whichever it was, this was make or break.

Zombies, skeletons, it was like a bad B Hollywood flick, but these could kill you. So far his sword had proved up to the task, thanks in part to the blessing of the priest on his blade. He wondered how long those would last, and what sorta mess would he be in if they ran out?

"So assume we find him and defeat him, how will you guys get home?"
