January 2013 campaign schedule and questions

I hope everyone's enjoying their holidays. I intend on sending out a Westgate New Year's card again this year, so look for that.

Since I've been the stuckee at work over the holiday period, I've now been able to balance that by taking off a chunk of time in mid-January to visit family in the USA. I'll therefore be traveling from January 12-23. This means I won't be able to DM on the 13th or 20th.

Our next session is currently scheduled for the 6th, but it might make more sense to resume the campaign on January 27th. Let me know what you all think.

Separately, I'm also considering trying to implement a session time change on Sundays, as the current start time is a burden for our UK players (midnight their time) and kind of late for me as well (10 PM) for six months out of the year. Essentially anytime earlier would be better. Furthermore, if we resume on January 27th at a new time we shouldn't run into any conflicts with the American football season (although we'll have to see about the Super Bowl on February 3rd). If people could post what they think about this and any potential time conflicts (in terms of your local time, which I can then convert), I'd appreciate it.

Starting back up on the 27th is fine. Wish we could start earlier but makes sense to just wait instead of playing a session and then waiting another 3 weeks to continue.

Starting earlier on Sunday is fine by me as well. My Giants aren't making the playoffs.

I'm fine with playing on Super Bowl Sunday.

I agree in that the delayed start makes sense too, and can do earlier on a Sunday too. It would suit me not to be up into the early hours when I have to work the next morning.

Picking back up on Jan. 27th is fine with me.

I don't have any problems with an earlier start on Sunday afternoon or evenings.

I would actually vote for a little later start, but I can convince the Mrs. that we should do grocery shopping in the afternoon rather than right before gametime.

Thanks to everyone for posting. So, regarding the session time, here's our situation.

We have Jaokith on Pacific time (PST) at one end of the spectrum and VM and SA on UK time at the other. That's a spread of 8 hours.

The session time can't be too early in the morning for Jaokith, or too late at night for our UK players. (It's already essentially too late, with a midnight start, but they've been extraordinary about it.)

Nobody posted about any specific time constraints - other gaming sessions or regular commitments that might conflict - so I'm assuming there aren't any.

Keeping Eastern U.S. time as the common reference point, I therefore propose instead of a 7 PM EST start (the current time), a 3 PM EST start, which on the western and eastern ends would work out to Noon PST and 8 PM UK time.

Please post on whether a) this would be acceptable to you, and if not then b) what time you would propose instead for the group, keeping in mind the above.

When American Football season rolls around again we may need to revisit this, depending on how avid our player fans are, but whatever we come up with now should be good until at least Fall 2013.

Hnn... stupid of me, sorry, but I hadn't, for some reason, expected it to be moved that far ahead and thought it would be a couple of hours at most. I am often busy earlier on a Sunday evening, but it's usually done with by 10 pm GMT without having to rush things. If it's before that I can't guarantee attendance on a regular basis.

Since VM has indicated the time constraint per above, it looks like the proposed time shift would only be 2 hours earlier than the current start time.

So, this would mean: 2PM Pacific Time, 4PM Central Time, 5PM Eastern Time, 10PM GMT.

Would like to get everyone's confirmation on this before the next session on January 27th.
