Katamarene looked at Polytropos, then at Eleni with somewhat thoughtful expression. Once more glancing at the young warrior she sidled over to the sorceress and spoke in a calculating tone of voice.

"I don't think we are going to to be able to just march into this place, but I've an idea," she said. "There's likely to be only two kinds of people go into that kind of place .. well three, but that doesn't matter .. I think one would be customers and the other would be people with something to trade." She waved her hand to indicate the others.

"I don't think it's a good idea to let any of them pose as customers, do you?" the young woman asked then continued quickly to avoid an answer. "So I say let's try going in as people with something to offer instead. You could be a ... oh I don't know, there must be some matriarchal society somewhere, I'm sure you'll think of one, but you can be from one of those looking for an opening here in Egypt and I can be your bodyguard."

"The opportunity is," she glanced over at the men in the company, "extending their business to provide for the local noblewomen, with the chance to purchase the 'services' of big, strong fighting men and so take advantage of an opening in a developing market ... and all that. Of course they're not going to do anything," Katamarene took another sideways glance, "but it gives us a way in, yes?"

((We signed up to do a quick favour for another god, by fetching an artifact of legend back for him, and ended up getting sent to check if some bad guys who run out of a brothel have it!))

((Thanks!))

Damian cast a sour look at Kat and crossed his arms. "You two are welcomed to try out your idea about getting us inside, but I doubt I should be a part of that package. I don't know of many women who would want to pay to be around a man who smells of earth and is covered in bear fur." He reached over and patted Aias on the head. "Not that there's anything wrong with bear fur, but it does tend to get into places it shouldn't." He shrugged. "Then again, I've heard of some women who like...exotic pleasures, maybe we'll have a way in that way." He shook his head and wandered off a ways, looking out over the desert.

Leonaidas listened to the others proposals and then shook his head.

I think you all are naive if you don't think the local rumor mill hasn't already spread word of our arrival and doings in this city. Just how many Greeks have you seen about? We'd be better off just going in as customers, looking to relax, blow off steam and sample the local wares. But hey, what do I know?

Andreas was daydreaming. He remembered the crypt and the thing that had given them a very short time to retrieve a missing Ankh. Before seeing him they had to battle his walking dead minions. They were tough but not impossible to defeat. They were making progress but at some point someone summoned a bucket of water and the thing tried to drown everybody. Andreas went down for a while. A brief moment he remembered the village, the missing girl and the angry water spirits who were holding her hostage...

(( I take it the game is an hour earlier today, for those of us not in DST? ))

Telemachus listened to Kats plan with a dubious expression. "You want us to pretend to be man-whores?" he shook his head. "I don't think that' will work. Leo made a good point, we've already made a lot of noise around here."
"Why don't we just go to this place and start punching people until they tell us the truth?"

((That bucket of water was my doing: I summoned a water elemental to fight that stupid mummy. :P

Topato, it'll be an hour earlier. We "sprung" forward an hour recently.)

By my clock the game starts in 37 minutes. If it were up to me we'd dispense with all this DST business, we're not farmers any more. :)
