"Does anyone know anything much about this Geryon?" Kataramene asks as she leans against the ship rail. The cloak she wears pulled up close around her neck, possibly against any chill sea breeze. "Or the Isle of Erytheia, for that matter." She sighs a little.

"Am I the only one who wishes they'd paid more attention when classes were being given? " The girl pauses a moment. "Although I'm not sure many in the village had even been as far as Argos, let alone further, so it's questionable how much they can tell us."

Her lips purse a little as she gazes off into the distance. "Sometimes I wonder what they are all up to. Perhaps we should go back there soon? Just for a short while, so we can see what they are doing and tell of our heroic exploits."

"I am afraid that this Isle of Erytheia does not ring a bell but you know geography and me... And this Geryon? Who is he?"

The wind was strong pushing the ship forward as if a God was pushing it with his finger. A boat was not a good place for training, not for running at least but for climbing and jumping it was acceptable. Since they started their journey, Andreas had tried to train his friends to fight unarmed but it was a lost cause even if those who live by the sword are expected to die by the sword. For pure wrestling Aias was the unlikely best partner when he was not "busy" sleeping or looking for a forgotten jar of honey...

"It's an island, far to the west," Eleni supplied. "Beyond Italia and Sicily, further than the furthest colonies. It's said to be home to one of the Hesperides, the nymphs whose garden lies at the edge of the world. Certainly the furthest away from home we've ever been, though I don't think we will encounter much in the way of civilization. This Geryon is supposed to be some giant who lives there, apparently. I am going to guess he will not part gladly with his herd."

The sorceress smiled at the mention of Mantineia. "It would be nice to visit and see everyone again, yes. When is the next harvest festival? With all this travelling, I've barely been keeping track of the seasons."

Telemachus groaned. "We're going to spend half our lives on ships at this rate. Now I know why heroes always end up founding cities, it makes the trouble come to them rather than them having to go look for it!"

"I don't think they'd recognise us back where we came from," Polytropos mused, smoothing back his hair after coming back on deck. "By Zeus's beard, I barely recognise us. Five or six months ago, the most we ever did or ever had done was drive off the occasional poisonous frog or argue over a woman or build something for Medios to trip over. Now we're, what? Sailing far away to a giant's island to steal his whole cattle herd? They'd look at us as if we were mad."

He paused, and thought for a moment. "And maybe we are," he concludes. "I worry that any minute now, we'll come to our senses and the dream'll end."
