Heroes of the Peloponnese Game Thread #3

They had managed to hunt down and destroy the gate through which the demons had poured in the middle of the swamp. Hopefully they'd killed all the demons wandering about as well. Alas, not much more than a medallion had been recovered, so Leonaidas' purse still remained light. Now the others were talking of some other mission to who knows where and Leonaidas wondered exactly what he was in for and whether he'd see any more coin on this one than the last.

Eleni tossed and turned in her sleep, haunted.
She saw her old teacher, his features twisted in horror as he was devoured by a horde of ravenous demons. Her friends, fighting a monstrous thing that was all eyes and teeth on the edge of a cliff, the ground crumbling beneath their feet. Mantineia, Argos, Greece - all the world, in turn, enveloped in endless night, while something hideous and ancient looked on in delight.
All these things, she saw. And she was helpless to stop it, screaming in impotence while everything died.
She woke with a start, feeling cold and shaken. For a moment, she saw only the darkness that surrounded her, and nearly panicked. But the world around her gradually resolved into something resembling familiarity, and she managed somehow to calm herself. But even so, there remained a nervousness to her thoughts that she could not shake. Her eyes wandered to the tome by her side, and lingered there.
She understood, after all - at least, better than any of the others - what lay before them. What they had been asked to do by the gods themselves. And perhaps more frighteningly still, what would be the consequences of failure.

"How far will need to go this time? For how long? Will it be by ship again? On horseback or by foot as usual? Now that I have my two legs back I am ready for anything."
Andreas was confident that they will be able to to do whatever they had and come back for a big wedding...

+1400xp for Andreas, Eleni, Leonidas, Kataramene, and Polytropos for IC posting this week.
EDIT: All right, Telemachus squeaks in under the wire, so make that +2100 for everyone.

Telemachus hoped everyone had found enough time for a good nights sleep, it might be the last time they slept in comfort and safety for a long while. Even the road to the forge was dangerous enough, who knows what lay in store for them on their journey to the hells?

((Server up. Connection details should be the same.))
Re: Heroes of the Peloponnese Game Thread #3
Two reminders: no session this Saturday (March 8), and Daylight Savings Time begins in the United States this weekend. I know that the UK and Ireland shift on a different timeline, and my understanding is that Japan doesn't participate at all.

((Yeah, we'll be an hour early for two weeks. *changes game time alarm on phone* ))
Re: Heroes of the Peloponnese Game Thread #3
"Are we all ready for the next big fight?" Andreas asked. "I hope that we are. Wouldn't be good to have anyone fall beyond our healing abilities. I sure understand that we have the power to bring back people from the other side but still, isn't it better to be safe than sorry?"
Re: Heroes of the Peloponnese Game Thread #3
That's why we're here Andreas, hopefully we can use the power of the forge to make some of our weapons more powerful. We're also going to be stopping off in Argos to resupply if we get a chance.
