((Longish term notice of my not being available on the 10th May. None of my family will be here either, so I can't get them to set up the server for you, which means it won't be possible to run that day. Sorry. ))

The naked giant emerged from his slumber covered in blood. Their were bodies all around, strange creatures who had escaped from somebody's nightmare. A fair looking woman was standing near the man and asked "Are you all right?" Words came out of his mouth almost by accident has he did not take the time to think about his answer "Er... All right... I think." He paused for a moment, pretending everything was fine. But everything was not. He was not sure, he understood what was going on at all.

Golems, demons, giant cats, and not much coin to show for it. At least they had managed to find their way thru the magical maze. Leonaidas hated mazes; they gave him headaches. Yes, it was time to counter that with another bottle of wine; he reached into his pack.

"Right, so do we have a plan for meeting this things "mistress"? Getting turned into stone doesn't hurt much but we might miss a lot if we spend the next thousand years that way."

"I have ways of undoing the petrification, and I believe Katara still has some of that salve she used on you," Eleni said. "The wards I've placed on you might be some small help as well. Besides that, I would suggest not meeting her gaze and fanning out around her, so that she cannot direct her eyes at most of us at any one time."

"Why do the things that do this always have female form?" Kataramene commented with an irritated sigh. "You'd think one of them might be a terrifying fighter who threatens you with a blade of fire and impress you with her command of the sword, or something, but nooooo." She waved her sword in a frustrated fashion.

"It's always turn you to stone because they are ugly, or fascinate you with irresistible beauty before they freeze your heart, or sing so they charm you then lure you into a trap before turning you into left overs. Gah" The sound was full of exasperation. "There's nothing honest about it."

"I'm not sure what gender that says the most about either." She continued with a sour expression. "How damn calculating we females are or how plain dumb the males."

Polytropos keeps a carefully neutral face during Kataramene's rant, nodding whenever she takes a breath and doing his best to radiate sincerity. "Absolutely," he says, as soon as she finishes speaking. "If there's one thing that walking all over the world shows, it's that everyone can do anything if they wanted. They just don't try! Because of... reasons." He scratches his head, his thoughts losing steam. "Anyway! Yes. More giant beautiful warrioresses, please, fewer evil witches."

He pauses. "No offence, Eleni, I'm sure you haven't devoured anyone."

He pauses again. "Wait, we're not dumb!"
