Heroes of the Peloponnese Game Thread #3

"We can't let her have them."
Somewhat unusually, Kataramene had been quiet since they had settled down at the camp. Unwilling to lose contact with Polytropos, again unusual, and leaning against him as they sat. The comment broke a silence of some hours.
"You call it anti-climatic but we near lost our lives. We made it, but it wasn't easy." She sighed deeply. "Six of us who have been literally through hell together, done ... heroic things, and a powerful priest of a demanding god, and it was close. Far too close. We can't simply give those medallions to a creature who holds people in stone because they look decorative then leaves them to crumble. These aided Achlys in her actions, and they will do the same for the one who wants them now. What would one like her do with such power? Destruction of life takes many forms, even if one is more subtle than the other."
"I'm sorry." The woman twines her fingers of around those of the hand at her waist and looks up at Polytropos. "I want to go home. Want it very badly. I want to have what was promised. But I can't take that as a reward leaving behind someone who would be no better than what we have defeated."

((Ooop, also a reminder that next week is off!))

OCC: Leo is not particularly interested in any of the necklaces, as I like what I have already, so whatever's left over he'll take and sell.
IC
Leonaidas was sort of surprised how quickly they'd dispatched their enemy, though he'd not really gotten too many effective shots in himself. As the other debated the necklaces, he wondered how their "ally" would respond if they weren't turned over as originally planned.

Here are the server's vacation dates, as far as I know (feel free to post dates that you will have to miss so I can adjust the schedule):
May 10
May 31
June 7.
So we'll play on May 17 and 24, and then the campaign resumes its normal schedule on June 14.
People will always have summer vacations, of course, but we'll continue our practice of playing when we have at least 5 players available, as long as it isn't a session where we need a full house (like facing a big boss).

Oh, and for reference here are the contents of the scroll that Athena gave to you:
This perfectly smooth parchment scroll contains a fragment of a discourse on the nature of the gods. The passage discusses the many and varied offspring of Eris, goddess of Discord.
* * *
But abhorred Eris (strife) bore painful Ponos (toil), Lethe (forgetfulness), Limos (starvation), the tearful Algea (pains), Hysminai (fights) and Makhai (battles), Phonoi (murders) and Androktasiai (manslaughter), the Neikea (quarrels), the Pseudologoi (lies), the Amphilogiai (disputes), Dysnomia (lawlessness) and Atë (blind ruin), all of one nature, and Horkos (oath) who most troubles men upon earth when anyone willfully swears a false oath.

((I do have another period, three weeks unfortunately, in July when I won't be able to play or host as we're all away from home.
Going to be riding down to Italy and back from the 12th, 19th and 26th July.
Other than that I've no anticipated absences until the end of October.))

"We will never have a chance to rest. We just got out of Hades or worse and now we must chase a tribe of immortals. When will this ever end?
Ah, do we really have to seek more magical weapons? Are we not all "magicked" already? Would it be safe to add more to that?"
OOC
Andreas can wrestle with Ki Strike +3 (The monk's unarmed attack counts as a magic weapon against creatures with damage reduction).
Also, with stoneskin he may be able to beat +5 DR (to be confirmed). Otherwise magic gloves or some two hand weapon like a staff may be required.

Just a reminder all, no session tomorrow.

I can try hosting again, or if that still doesn't work we can try having another player host. That's a long stretch without my Saturday morning RPG fix.Vanya Mia wrote:((I do have another period, three weeks unfortunately, in July when I won't be able to play or host as we're all away from home.
