Heroes of the Peloponnese Game Thread #3

The sun, now that was a place he'd never expected to visit. It was certainly going to be hot, so Leonaidas decided he'd better stock up on liquid supplies to help stay cool. He wondered what sort of stuff might be lying around that would be safe to bring back as a souvenir.

"Apollo's magic is supposed to protect us from the worst of the flame, but he was rather vague on the subject of how long those protections would work," the sorceress said, sounding rather skeptical about the whole endeavor. "Should said protections fail, we probably have more to worry about than our armour melting."

A hand on Kataramene's shoulder nudged her away a moment, guiding her a few steps away from the others... not far enough to be unheard, but far enough to make it clear it's just the two of them talking. On finding a short ledge, Polytropos sits, and tugs at Kataramene's hand, bidding the unhappy warrioress to join him.
His arm finds her waist, once she does. "One thing we're seeing is that there's a lot of different Gods, aren't there? Smart ones and nasty ones and kind ones and funny ones. Kind of like us."
Pol smiles at her, that lopsided smile. "Not surprised Ares likes Tel. Everyone knew he was gonna be a great warrior since he was six. Huge boy, remember? He's a big giant who charges in with an axe and blocks swords with his face. We give him the best stuff we can find in the hope we won't have to carry him off on our shields. He's Ares's type! Big, brave and dumb."
"But you were never gonna be a great warrior. That's what they all said. And wow... you've come so far. You're standing tall among the greatest warriors around, and you're only going to get better. Now's not the time to fall down, y'know?" The young fighter looked genuinely dismayed at the thought. "If Aphrodite decided from birth, that she wasn't going to be the Goddess of Love, but a fighter... and she worked and worked and fought until she was an amazing fighter, beating most other Gods, but couldn't quite beat Ares... did she fail?"
"C'mon." If she's not looking at him, his hand reaches up to her cheek, turning her head to face him. "I want to see you get your time in the sun."

((Server is up. 82.35.89.219:5121 password the usual.
When I had time to look without rushing last time, I had set one of the ports up to the wrong value by mistake. *slaps forehead* Been fine for a couple of games since the crash, so I think we should be okay.))

"I AM NOT DUMB! Bah. You think you've got it bad Kat? Everyone takes one look at me and assumes I'm an idiot, and no matter what contribution I make, I'm still the big moron with the axe to these people."
Re: Heroes of the Peloponnese Game Thread #3
"Funny, that!" Pol calls back.

Hey all, I just realized we've been playing this campaign since October 2012... quite the long haul! We may even have enough material to reach our two-year anniversary.
Here is a page with resources for port forwarding for NWN, sorted by router type:
http://portforward.com/english/applicat ... er_Nights/
This page says you only need to forward port 5121 to run a NWN server, but I've always done all of the ones that the NWN FAQ lists (most of those are for GameSpy, which is pretty much defunct at this point anyway).

Really enjoyed the return of our weekly campaign. It was a good game overall. Thumbs up.

Andreas probably had too much Olympian wine. It was said that it was not made from grapes but from fermented honey. Shouldn't it be called mead in that case?
Andreas woke up, not sure where he was with no friends in sight, he then wandered around for a while. Since there was no real time in Olympus it was difficult to say how long it took. At some point he visited the forge only happy to see his friends back from a short trip.
This time they had to go to the Sun. What was that? Didn't Icarus tried that before? The group was determined to go through with this mad idea and so they did. It was so bright they could not see and so hot they were burning, boiling and what not. Even with the protective magic they were having trouble staying awake and not fall in some kind of coma like dehydrated people in a desert when the sun is high. They found the thing they were looking for but the crystal was hard to retrieve. Andreas, without thinking twice blasted the thing with Zeus thunder breaking the protective rock without damaging the crystal, that was lucky. They were able to teleport back to Olympus ending their suffering in a blast of light.
They could have stayed put to eat, drink and recover but no, they decided to help Poseidon and do some underwater cleaning duty. At least they could see and it was not hot like Hades. They ventured in caves where fish-men were dwelling. Killed a few of these and a priestess. One big reptile was hard to defeat, some kind of crocodile. Last but not least a kind a snake-head woman who could outrun Andreas and vanished without a trace.
"Are we going to stop running and eat now?"

I looked the other day, as I keep the chat logs from all the games and noticed we were up to 74 sessions for me at least, so checked. Time has fled! Also ...
I always used to do just 5121, but have found that the connection is more stable for a number of people if all of them are open. T could pass this onto his guy .. whoIhavenotyetfoundtimetotalkto.Lazybones wrote: http://portforward.com/english/applicat ... er_Nights/
