The Scowling One sits, getting used to its new chair, before looking around for something to put under it and raise its height. Eventually, though, it seems to grow tired of the discussion, and cuts in with its own ascerbic commentary. "Bah! Repairs, yes. But how do you expect us to survive an assault on a Harvester vessel, guarded by clones wielding plasma weaponry, if we cannot even survive attacking a human laboratory with whatever uncertain armament the Different Elder can procure?"

The Scowling One grunts. "We will ready our new research facility. That is the prevailing voice. We will steal what we can from the humans in readiness of fighting our own kind, and we will arm ourselves with what we can develop before facing that challenge. We must... adapt, and that requires that we learn... how to survive in these new... reduced... conditions." The Scowling One looks around them, its face taking in its disgust at the dirty, unfamiliar surroundings. It shivers, perhaps in the cold.

Looks like 3 to 2 in favor of Option 1, with two clones left to weigh in.

"The faster we return to our research, the sooner it will yield results," Pale said, thoughtfully. "The human lab will be least likely to offer serious resistance, as well, and will probably not attract the attention of the masters. It may indeed be wise to start there."

"As for our weapons: I am not certain if the small arms we might be able to reverse-engineer from the components of the cannons would be that much more effective than human weapons. It may be worth trying, if they are not so useful in their present form. But perhaps we would be more effective at such endeavors once we have access to proper lab equipment once again."

"I not do it then," Nimble grumbled, cowed and sulky, and humphed pointedly at the enormous, ex-muton cannon. The clone continued under its 'breath'. "Not be my fault when get discorporated. Not come crying if legs cut off or big hole in bits of clone or ..." The mental grumbling tailed off into a background hum in the vicinity of the floater as - in the absence of anything more constructive to work on - it busied itself with the range of tools on its belt. Fiddling and generally seeking to improve them.

((I'll drop the weapon suggestion for IC compliance, but transfer the obsession to working with the tools. I don't remember if there is any better version to grant, but even if not the possibility of a 1 is always good for a laugh in my book. :D Craft Mech 12.))

+600xp for everyone who posted this week.

Note: Daylight Savings Time begins in the US this weekend. Our usual practice is to shift on the US calendar, but I'm willing to discuss options if that is inconvenient for anyone.

Research trees updated!

You are basically starting fresh, with zero carryover points but all existing discoveries preserved. Same base 10 RP/week for the lab.

No manufacturing until you complete the Harvester Ship mission. If you want to try manufacturing acid or bio grenades with your existing supplies you can do so (Craft: Chemical), though you do not have access to Elerium-115 (for the explosive grenades) at the moment. DC will be high for the bio grenades since you do not currently have the raw materials.
