Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread
Moderator:Lazybones
The devoted (for lack of better name) travelled to another island to provide assistance to the villagers. There was apparently incursions made by lizard men near the settlements. The group ventured into the countryside and did fight some of the creatures unable to communicate with them.
"I hope that we will be able to fix this."

//we were about to assault the lizardmen lair, a cave in the sea cliff side.
Slade didn't have much trouble spotting the various lizardmen hunters that seemed to scout the group. They were pretty tough though, so he was careful to keep his distance when tracking them. He didn't relish the prospects of clearing them out of their caves, some of their pet lizards were huge and probably even tougher.

// We were sitting outside the lizardman cave, trying to work out if it were possible to communicate with them. The idea bringing a peace offering was brought up.
Amathain stood just outside of the cave, having tried simply talking to the lizardfolk, he turns back to the party;
"Does anyone know how we might communicate with these creatures? I'm not sure if they speak common at all. Someone mentioned some sort of peace offering, but what should we bring them?"

Nihmri sighed in frustration.
"A barrel of fish? Some nice silk dresses? Candy? Gods, how are we meant to know?
The sole thing that gives me hope at this point is the fact that they gave up their blockade in the middle of the night. Maybe it gave them enough time to think about why we're here."

Toric shrugged. "Aye, lass, there be the crux o' it all. How can we communicate with these lizard folk? If'n they wanna a fight, well, I say we's give 'em a fight! Not that I wouldna be opposed ta not fightin mind ye, jus' that I don expect that ta happen."

//I'm going to be on the road next week but should be back in time for the game. If I'm not there within 15 minutes, start without me and good luck storming the castle.
Re: Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread
Pius kept silent for a while listening to his friends comments.
"A peace offering may be what we need but from what you are saying we don't know what we should give. Worse, if we give them the wrong thing we may offend them. Shall we go back to the village and ask for advice?
We may be able to find a clue from the villagers or someone may know how to communicate with them. Surely starting a war should be the last resort and it can certainly wait a few hours."

"The barrel of fish sounds pretty good actually."Amathain pondered. "And maybe some beer or something? Usually goes down well."
Re: Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread
"I'm going with fish still," Shanni agreed. "If we go back the villagers are just going to tell us to give them the sharp end of a sword. You know that."
"Mind you," she gave a little shrug and a rueful smile, "that doesn't mean we won't be giving them that anyway, it's just best to try to be nice. Luck often swings better for you if you do, I find, and the Lady does like you to try and find your own luck after all."
