Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread

Slade was happy to be out of the maze. The Banites hadn't fared so well, but he wasn't shedding any tears for them. They'd gotten in over their heads and paid the price. Back in the village, the team seemed to have some spare coin available so looked like he might finally pick up some items to help him out a bit.

Toric looked over at Pius. "That pig sticker ain't cuttin' it anymore, lad?" He grinned. "We'll see if'n we canna find ye somethin' better. Also, we need ta get the Elf somethin' better ta, 'cause I don' think 'is bow is doin' all that much an' 'e's no good if'n all 'e be doin' is runnin' from the fight."

"Not so much as an evening's repose before we are once again tossed into the fray, it seems," Nihmri said, with a world-weary sigh. "Truly, the gods are bereft of mercy. What manner of accursed place is this Sword Coast, that it should be so haunted?"
Re: Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread
"It's not named the Sword Coast because it's a tourist destination. It's a dangerous place to call home." Amathain said, with a trace of a smile. "Come, we must buy what supplies we need and ready ourselves for the road> We've only a note to go on, circumstances at the village could have changed already."

+700xp for Toric, Slade, Pius, Nihmri, and Amathain for IC posting this week.

Pius could not sleep so he prayed. He missed the place where he grew up and the time when ideals seemed easy to uphold.
He was a bit conflicted about his oath even though he was aware that a lot of things were out of his control.
The code said:
"Do not hurt when holding is enough
Do not wound when hurting is enough
Do not maim when wounding is enough
And kill not when maiming is enough
The greatest warrior is he who does not need to kill"
Pius could hardly remember anyone or anything hostile not killed on sight. Every man like the overzealous Banite or "monster" was hurt, wounded or maimed in no particular order and eventually killed by a sword, hammer or arrow.
Pius decided to try to get some sleep...

Re: Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread
Slade decided he didn't like trolls. They were surprisingly fast, fearless and relentless in pursuit. He'd nearly died under the claws of one and swore to himself next time he'd keep a bigger distance away from such fiends. He wondered whether the reward would be worth it?
Re: Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread
"So .... is there anyone else who thinks this thing with the swords is, you know, a bit 'fated' like?" Shanni asked as they wandered back to Timberton. Out of the blue the question might have seemed, but the young woman had been wearing a thoughtful frown since they left the troll cave. "Is it just me who thinks it's more than a coincidence?"
"I mean," she continued, "what have we had so far? A bad storm that wrecks our ship, and causes us to land on the island where the first one was ... well I'm going to say 'waiting'. Then another storm causes me to steer in the direction of Timberton and we meet a mysterious fellow who recognises and wants to buy it. Then another one asks about it for some reason just before we set out here. Then another sword turns up in the hands of a hobgoblin who just happens to come to the area and we just happen to be asked to help out." She draws a deep breath. "Then yet another fellow sees that one, wants it, kicks up a fuss when he can't have it, and wanders off chuntering about a third one."
"Even if you don't think it's the work of the Lady you've got to agree something is going on." Shanni scanned the surroundings looking cautious suddenly. "Do you think someone is going to try and take them?"

Toric shrugged at Shanni's words. "They can try, lass. 'Twill be the last thing they be doin', but they can certainly try. As fer the Lady or fate, I agree somethin's goin' on. I don't know what, but I 'ope we be findin' out soon. I'm bettin' these swords 'ave a part ta play an' we need ta find out what 'fore we just give 'em away."
