Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread

"Yes, yes, but to be fair, the monsters were probably only there because of us in the first place."
Nihmri shrugged, in her usual manner.
"At this point, we may as well be wearing bullseyes on our chests. Along with a lovely little sign, perhaps. Elemental assassins of all varieties welcome! No appointment necessary! Gods, I wouldn't want us staying under my roof, either. Not that I've ever had a roof to call my own, but if I did I suspect I would not be quite so careless with it."

Curse of the Portals.
Once again a portal opened and monsters from another planes appeared and started to create havoc at the inn.
Pius was outside, walking on a soft patch of fresh snow. He wanted to see the high priest. He wanted to get help. He was convinced the portals was the result of a powerful curse. Curse placed on an object or a person. He had a feeling that one of the sisters may be cursed or hold a curse object able to trigger the portals...

"So what you're saying is..." Suula piped up, her sour mood from last night unchanged. "... is that we've become Bad Luck. Ha. Well, it only took a few months for you to join me in that. Perhaps we could sing some caterwails and burn some brandy in the Maid of Misfortune's name, and bid this town fend for itself while we take our precious time resting up and warming up before the next expedition."

"You would say that," Shanni responded rolling her eyes. "See I say we were lucky to learn they were chasing us this way in a location that when they did it caused less trouble. They could have tried it while we were in the middle of the barracks, or worse still the citadel, and created havoc at best or at worst decimated the forces or leadership."
"So no," she continued, "we were lucky to discover this with just some damage to an inn." The young woman turned to her sister with a nod of her blonde head. "But you're not wrong Sis, we need to take the information as a suggestion that we get out of town. Time to round up supplies for a longer journey."

We didn't plan on remaining here too much longer in any case. We've an appointment with an army of fire giants. Hopefully with us in a different area the village will be safe from this kind of attack. With some luck this might even be the last group, I don't think we have encountered or heard of any other species of giant being active in the area.

Despite having two machines on hand I am unable to keep up with conversations or the group movement. Worse, in the room with the giants I cannot attack (I just seems to run award w/o seeing the attack in the action queue.
I think I'll try again the next time. Be safe!

The group ventured beyond the wall again before Pius or anyone else could talk to the high priest. Finding answers about the portals would have to wait. But what if it was essential to address this before trying to challenge more giants?
The devoted ventured into unexplored areas of the mountain. The view from the peaks was nothing short of breathtaking. As they got closer to the giants fortress they met and defeated some gigantic red lizards.
At some point, Pius had an horrific vision: Several portals had opened beyond the wall, and bodies of people could be seen everywhere. Houses were burning. Horses were either dead or fleeing. A small army of planar creatures were killing everyone in sight.
The vision was so vivid that Pius turned back and rushed to the town leaving his friends to deal with the giants...
