The Spine of the world was a chain of majestic mountains.

As the group progressed towards the dwarves settlement they were attacked by undead creatures and big spiders. There was a hollow tree nearby with a stone door. As if the door in such location was not odd enough behind it was a staircase leading to a large crypt. The crypt was haunted by undead. The area was also rigged with traps. No doubt, someone or something was practicing necromancy for what purpose it was hard to say. They eventually confronted the "necromancer" who had apparently conjured some demons to help protect him.

After clearing the crypt, the group continued towards the hills. A rather large tiger appeared and took the group for an easy prey. The animal was hard to kill and turned out to be a mountain lion that seems to have been changed into a tiger. Foul play though Pius.

Soon the night would fall and they would have to make camp. Pius was still tormented. The tragedy of the silver dragon and the innocents people killed was taking a toll on him. He was looking for a way to prevent such tragedy to ever happen again. Then came another vision: He was riding on a dusty road bearing a banner...

OOC

Not available next week-end although I may make a late appearance. Perhaps going back to make a banner at the inn of the last chance.

((Advance notice that I won't be here 4th June. Bought tickets to a gaming Expo in Birmingham. Can, however, put the game up before I go out in the morning, which if there's no IP shift in the day should mean it's okay.))

EDIT: It's June 11 that I'll be gone.

Slade hated undead. He took special joy in hunting them. However, he didn't necessarily go out of his way to do so. He wasn't quite sure why the party felt impelled to track some undead raiders back to their crypts and cleanse the whole place. It was foolish to ask as the paladins and priests were never gonna overlook such. Some of the traps were very potent and felled the primary trap handler who missed one, requiring quick action to save her from death. Slade was actually pretty good at spotting traps, but hadn't devoted so much time yet to all the intricacies of disabling the more complex and deadlier kinds. One of the wraiths had laid hold of him as he was attempting to dodge of a combat and he'd been feeling very poorly since. The priests promised to help him "later". He hoped he wouldn't be forgotten.

Durgan Stonehammer, Durgan Stonehammer...where have I heard that name before? Toric thought to himself. Ah! 'Twas one of mom's distant cousin's kids. So he's a Thane now? Good fer him. I hope he's doing right by the Delve. Be nice to see kin again, even if they be distant ones at that. He looked around at his fellows, stopping at Shade. "Ye look a little pale, Elf, even for ye. I'm guessing ye'll need some healing, eh? Damned undead can do that a fellow sometimes, 'tis why we try to keep 'em in their coffins as much as possible."

"You never know who you're going to meet on the roads, do you?" Sulla opined, wrapped in a wintry demeanour as usual. "We'ew in the sticks now; this is where all the undesirables seep to after they've been turfed out of civilised company."

She gave a hateful look at the hills above them. "This will only get worse," she judged. "Where there's walls and guards and coin then the rich and sometimes even the wise are the law... but out here, all there is, is the Dark."

"Suula, it's a lovely day, try not to be so bleak. If you get any gloomier you might turn into a wraith yourself! We've met as many decent people and done as much good away from civilisation as in it."

"Dont start on her for feeling the worse for wear right now," Shanni threw in. "We're all feeling a little worn and ragged after that experience. Poor Slade's never looked so bad .... except perhaps when he was dead, but we're trying to avoid that."

"What we need," she continued in a bright and sunny tone, "is a nice place rest to try and get ourselves together. Hunker down around a fire, cook up a stew and sort ourselves out." She gestured to the hills. "Up on one of those where we can see who's coming perhaps? A watch would be good."

"Once I've rested if there are any persistent side effects then I'll ask for the blessings of the Lady," she added. "Let me know if you're still feeling queasy."

((OOC - I'm still unsure which way to go with buffs and cures, and have been erring on the side of the buffs. GMW is now +3, so I've dropped HotG and it's probably worthwhile sacrificing a stoneskin too for a couple of those, but restoration also means sacrifice. Happy to take suggestions as to what's the best line up of spells, as this is the first time I've taken a cleric to this level.))
