Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread

Suula slopes up while the party are preparing, sniffing the air and earning surly looks as she moves like a tall crow, robes wrapped around her and her hood hiding her hair. "I've seen enough," she says, as soon as she's close. "I've felt enough. There's something sick in the air. Do the Dwarves have a God of misfortune? It's as if my Lady Doom has been beaten to the punch."

Toric looked over at Suula. "Not really, lass, but there be ol' Abbathor who is greedy as all get-out. I think whatever God or Goddess at work here ain't a Dwarf. Prolly them Dark Elves behind it. That Bitch Queen of theirs would just love to get her hooks into the Delve 'cause that'd give her easy access to the surface. If it ain't them Elves behind this, then I'm a bearded gnome."
Re: Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread
"Judging by the reputation of the underdark, there are any number of races and creatures that would be hostile to the good dwarves of the delve, and to ourselves. We must expect danger at every turn."

+1100xp for Toric, Slade, Pius, Suula, and Amathain for IC posting.

((Apologies, work was crap and I working all week I forgot what day it was.
Also, as I hadn't realised how close the time was getting, I'm going to be out on the 9th and 16th while in Italy. Lads will be home though so I should be able to get the server up.

Re: Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread
The dwarven mines were suffering from a bug infestation which the party, naturally, had to clear out as a demonstration of the prowess. Of course, there was no pay for this either. Slade hadn't been happy about it, but saw no point in pressing the matter given how happy the paladins were to donate their services at the drop of a hat. These had been dealt with rather quickly, though the beetles were definitely not the garden variety and appeared to have been transformed in way similar to some of the other wildlife the party had dealt with recently. Some speculated the drow were behind it all, but Slade had his doubts at this stage.
Finally, underway in the Underdark, the group battled assorted demons haunted the nearest caverns, but didn't find anything remarkable linking to the troubling dreams the dwarves were suffering from. The Underdark was a big place though, so Slade had no doubt they'd find something or someone to blame in due time.

Toric looked around the cavern the group had decided to use to rest for a bit. "I've heard a lot 'bout this Underdark, but never thought I'd be down 'ere in 'em. The sooner we can get back to the Delve the better I'm thinking."
Re: Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread
"Honestly, it doesn't feel all that different from Dwartown so far," Nihmri said, conjuring up an impish grin. "Mostly, it's just that the locals are slightly grumpier and significantly less hairy. Why, it might even qualify as an improvement, all told!"
Re: Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread
"I don't like it in here. It's gloomy and dark. No sky, no stars, no wind, no sunset to contemplate, no snow on the mountain, no grass dancing on the plain. Oh and no grapes therefore no wine. I do not contemplate the idea of eating giant mushrooms and insects either."
Pius paused for a moment perhaps for a silent prayer.
"We have a mission and we must complete it or die trying. I just hope that we will not stay 'buried' under tons of rocks for too long."

"It's a refrain oft repeated to the point of cliché, but dark places are those most in need of light. One accomplishes little of worth sitting in a warm tavern on a bright summers day."
