"Oh yes, that really helps." Shanni rolled her eyes and sighed. "This isn't exactly fair is it? Okay so some misguided people might think this is a good idea, this Larloch probably being one of them, as long as they get to be in charge." She looks at one of the doors.

"I'm guessing most of these people didn't ask to have this happen. Live a life, usually in service, often not that pleasant and then end up like this? More servitude until someone like us bashes them to pieces?" She shakes her head. "Silly names aside, this place if awful and just one more sign that the ... thing we are going to see is a loony."

(Nice ditty! :D ))

//sorry for late notice, but I'm going out after and I've realised I'd have to leave after like half an hour, so it's probably better if I skip today entirely. Sorry again!

1000 nights and a knight.

How often do you meet a friendly undead? Or one able to assist you? After clearing a number of inverted towers the devoted managed to activate the item that teleported them across the chasm directly in front of the biggest tower.

They met a kind of Lich who apparently was fighting the same enemy. The group asked a few questions and after the Lich teleported everyone someplace else. They found themselves somewhere in a city. Sigil perhaps where they were to find a "key Master" of some kind.

They were approached by a person who claimed that a locksmith could be found behind the nearby door. Pius considered that it could be a trap but he knew that the team was strong enough to overcome an ambush. He stepped to check out the place. He found himself in a big empty house. He turned to see if the others were behind him. They were not. Projectiles started to fly from the far side of the room. Pius fell unable to strike back. The knight had served Helm the best he could but this was the end of his journey...

The city of Doors seems like a good place to switch char (with the DM's permission).
I was thinking about a half dragon or an archer. I think Althor Bowman will do nicely.
He can be found unconscious somewhere (another victim of the tiefling gang), at a slave market or in a tavern. In any case he is trying to escape from Sigil. He has no gold or equipment.

As Suula fiddled with the lock, Toric set Pius' lifeless body on the floor and propped it up against the wall. He rolled his arms and sighed. "We're gonna have to do something with sleeping beauty here. I canna carry 'im and toss 'im on the ground like a sack o' potatoes every time we've a fight. If'n 'is soul don want ta come back, then I say we divvy up 'is gear and find a place to bury 'im. I'd rather not leave 'im in this place, but we don know where any of these doors go to and it's looking like we're gonna have to take that weird free-standing one we found the key for. Think he'd mind if'n we took 'im back to that abandoned house and burned 'im in it?" He patted the side of Pius' head affectionately. "Ye always were a hard-head, lad. Shame it finally caught up with ye." He sighed and picked up the lifeless corpse and settled the weight on his shoulder. "So, what now?"

That's fine. Use a character generator module to build a 15th level character and send it to Vanya Mia so it can be placed into your player folder in her Server Vault.

Alternatively you can build the character at the start of the game, but if you take that option be prepared to select your level up options in advance as I don't want that to hold up the game.

I'll find a spot for you to join somewhere in the next session.

The party fought thru various guardians and traps before reaching a lich, who turned out to be enthrall to a higher master. After dispatching him twice and destroying his phylactery, freeing him, his master revealed himself, the much older and more powerful lich Laroch. Apparently, his defenses were a test of the group. As Slade suspected, he was not the force behind the undead outbreak and related problems of the realm, and viewed the power involved as an enemy. He did allow the party to ask three questions to aid in furthering the mission. He claimed Orcus was responsible and an artifact would be needed to defeat him. The search for that would be Sigil, the City of Doors. Slade had heard of the place and wasn't all that thrilled at the prospects of visiting. Yet, without much warning or discussion, the party was sent on to Sigil by the lich.

On arrival the party got a bit separated as people stopped to gawk, attempted to barter with vendors or wandered about. Pious ventured into a building and sounds of fighting soon echoed down the street. The others rushed to his aid and a desperate battle at close quarters ensued. Slade arrived a bit behind the others and found the doorway jammed with fighters, so backed out to await for an opening to develop. The group cut down their assailants but Pious died. More disturbing, the priests were unable to restore him to life. Slade wondered if that was 'cause Pious had finally used up his nine lives so to speak, his god decided to finally claim him, or that the priests prayers simply weren't as effective in this city? Slade decided he'd have to be a lot more careful till the reason could be more firmly determined. Moving on, the party found the shop of the locksmith, a person who could tell them of the artifact they needed. Unfortunately, someone else had beaten them there and the locksmith was dead and the place ransacked. Slade wondered if this connected to their mission, was a case of another unhappy customer, or just a sample of the sometimes random violence Sigil was known for. The priests had no luck raising this guy either and Slade wondered what they were going to do next? It was definitely looking like a deadend.

"What kind of a place is this?" Suula asked as she tweaked at the lock of the strage standing door. "I'm serious. The walking fleshy ball salesman I can almost handle, but... a gang of street thieves just did what vampires and dragons and werewolves had real trouble with. Kill one of us." She looks back at the others, shaking her head. "What sort of... godless place is this?"

// Jesus I miss one session and you've teleported to Sigil and gotten a party member killed.. Can't take my eyes off you lot for five minutes. writing this assuming Amathain was at the back and just not very talkative:

It's always hard to loose a comrade. It always seems like there was more you could have done. Try as they might though, he could not be raised. Amathain could only believe this a sign that his soul was gone beyond entirely, at peace by the side of Helm.
"Rest well my friend, your duty done."
