Re: Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread
// How are we for attendance next week? I know VM is away. I could actually use the time too if people would be willing to skip to the week after?
Re: Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread
//Fine by me. I'd rather we be at full strength before we take on old horny anyway.
Re: Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread
//I'm still not opposed to waiting a week, but I figured I'd get this in in case we're playing this week.
Toric looked at the fortress. "So we be goin' in there, eh? Not sure I really want to, but if it be the only way to kill ol' horny, I guess it's what we'll have ta do." He looked over at the thrall. "I know this be a properly stupid question, but can we trust ye 'till we kill the bastard that lives 'ere? 'Can't say as I like the idea, but I got no beef with ye." He glances at Am, "I don't go 'round smiting evil just 'cause it be there, but I will do me best to protect others from such. So as long as ye uphold yer end o' our bargain, I'll let ye go, but I won't vouch fer yer safety." He eyes her critically, "but know this, lass: the first time ye try to double cross us'll be yer last. Understood? Good. Now let's go kill us a demon lord." He nodded and checked his weapons and gear. "I be ready."

"In fact," Suula adds, "I'd be trying to think up some pretty good reasons for us to keep you alive after we're done here. This abyss-scape has us all cranky, I'm pretty sure your Demon Lord's just as bad as this one - and I like the look of your chainmail. Wouldn't be our first bit of still-warm loot."
She nods her head back at her sister. "She even took THAT one off a friend. Still kinda smells of him, I think. Or maybe that's just her."

((if the call is to hold no game a week, then ok, I can do that.))

After visiting the Deities the grouped continued their journey in the Abyss. They emerged in Thanatos and were rejoined by Amathain the paladin. They progressed without too many problems this time around. Althor noticed that when the group operated at full capacity with well coordinated actions it was quite effective. Althor even missed the opportunity to hit some of the foes as they were often dead before he could fire his first arrow...

// Are we still waiting on the judges decision to skip or not?
Amathain studied the new blade carefully, still with a slight air of wonder. Where had this mysterious blade come from, and how had it found its way here? What god was it consecrated by? Would it be arrogant to think this was divine providence? Regardless, he was grateful and intended to put it to worthy use.

Caverns filled with mushroom people, shrieking and gaseous ones with occasional undead anfd demons popping up. It wasn't a particularly enjoyable day, though Slade's arrows did their fair share of work. At least the paladin was back to spearhead the attacks. Slade wondered if they really had a chance vs Orcus.

"Oh, by all means. Let us alienate the nearest thing we have to an ally in this wretched place. That strikes me as a very sensible thing to do."
Nihmri sighed, then shot Suula a grin, by way of apology.
"Then again, who knows with demon-ish things like her? Maybe she'd think it rude if we didn't treat her poorly. You never can tell with these sorts of deviants, can you?"
((I can play either way, but if there's a 100% chance next session will wrap up this arc, I do think it'd be a shame if VM weren't around for it. Not least because wouldn't want to be a short a healer if we're going to be fighting a demon lord.))

"That thing you think you smell isn't something anyone else can detect because it's the green of your own envy filtering out of your soul," Shanni gave her sister an acid glare then tossed her head in a dismissive fashion. "Just because you can't pull off glamour, and have to opt for tart as a look to get attention, doesn't mean we all have to. And besides, the armour was a gift so wearing it honours the giver and using it to vanquish evil is does the same to the memory of Pius."
"Besides," she gave the thrall a look up and down, "you'd need a wider cloak before wearing that armour as your arse will definitely look big in it." With that she turned and flounced through the door of the keep.
As she did there was a swirl of mists, a sense of disorientation, causing her to shake her head a few times and then look around her. This definitely did not look like the inside of the keep, but it was equally unpleasant and Shanni's senses could tell no difference from what she had felt while before the doorway.
"Whoops," said a female voice she recognised in a playful tone, "I am a silly girl. What have I done?" There was a tutting sound of remonstration. "Condemned you? Or them? Or both?" There was a shadowy glimpse of a black clad female form through the mist, first here and then there as the words came. "Or did you already do that already by casting positive energy around like it was going out of style? You can't possibly have expected that to go unnoticed."
The voice came as a whisper over her shoulder and Shanni span around sharply, and then took a step back as she looked straight into black eyes framed by long silvery hair.
"Or perhaps I just did it to piss off my sister? We both know how that gnaws don't we?" Red lips curled in a bright smile and a pale, delicate finger beckoned the young cleric to follow. "Let's watch eh? It'll be fun!"
((I'd love to be in on the finale, but totally able to accept it should go ahead. If you do then perhaps you can give Suula the coin LB and when Goldinaras appears it's Shanni in disguise? Tymora's way of tipping the balance back.
Will put the server up anyway with the usual connection details and try to get the youngest to check it but he's not as reliable as the firstborn so let's hope he's not needed!))
