Re: Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread
Somethimg was putting people into some sorta magical sleep from which they couldn't be wakened. Nobody back at the temple had any idea of who or what might be causing this. Slade wondered how important it really was if the gods couldn't be bothered to share any details about this with their chosen representatives. On the other hand, maybe it was all just a game to them, testing to see which group would come out on top. At this point, he didn't really care, as long as he didn't fall asleep like that.

Toric sat with his feet up in the dormitory bedroom sipping an ale. "Ya know. We need ta find out who or what's causing these dreams 'fore one of us comes down with this sleeping sickness. Unfortunately it appears even the Temple isn't spared from it." He looks at the others. "Any of ye still havin' them nightmares?"

"I don't know." Suula replied, hollow-eyed and blank-stared, hanging about the dormitories, gaze drifting into corners, hugging a mug of something that smelled of strong beans. "I'm not planning to sleep any more. I never thought about this before. We spend a third of our lives unconscious and helpless. That's so weird."
She takes a long sip of the stuff, and made a face. "I just keep thinking of that innkeeper. Saw his face. He didn't know where he was. Just, behind bars... somewhere, they weren't solid, but he couldn't pass them. Like something stole him while he couldn't stop it, while he was helpless."
You sure it wasn't a voice whispering to you refusing to let you sleep - shut up, thoughts!
She shuddered. "Th-that dragon. It was half-asleep, half lost. Those voices it heard. Were - were those the lost people who didn't wake up?" She frowns, and takes another sip as her hand starts to shake. "I never thought of dreaming as, as really leaving my body, but now..."

"I can only hope that my Elven blood will protect me from this sleeping sickness or shall I say sleeping curse. I doubt it though considering it could affect something as powerful as a dragon."
Althor was not sure what to do next. He felt that slowly but surely he was becoming part of this strange group. Patrolling a forest with rangers, fighting alongside elves or venturing in dungeons with one or two partners was one thing. Going around with this group was entirely different and perhaps, a small challenge by itself. It was amazing to see a multiracial group of multiple religions and values getting along so nicely. So far Althor did not witness any serious argument in the party. No fight, no bickering, no gossips, no bullying of any kind...

"Isn't there something about the bit of us that is 'us' going to another place or something?" Shanni added, waving her hand around as an expression of vagueness. "Um .. one of these plane things? Where we're supposed to wander around resting our minds or whatever."
"I dunno," she continued with a lack of certainty, "a place where we seem like ourselves and wander around. And there's a ... I think it's silver chord attaching us back to our body, and if it's cut we die." She frowned, and shrugged gesturing towards Nim.
"This is more Nim's territory than mine, I just heard that somewhere. Don't know if it's true, but if it is something's getting in the way of that maybe?" She paused with a look of concern developing on her face. "If it's true though then this is real big trouble. Anything could happen while people can't get back to their body." Shanni paused again and then held out her hand towards Suula.
"Give me some of that please."

"None of this is right," Nihmri said, to herself more than to her fellow disciples. "Dreams are supposed to be where we are most free. In dreams, imagination is our only chain. They should not be made into a prison."
