Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread

By the Gods. The Mechanic did want to to trade anything. He lost his temper and ordered his golems to attack. Next the group had to explore his lair in search of the material they came for (in order to create a special item needed to enter the Dream World).
They found a room where a lever needed to used to open the nearby doors. The area was heavily trapped an one could get through it only following a specific path highlighted by magic aura of some kind.
They later entered a room with two giant hands facing each other. The room was a deadly trap able to stun people while teleporting golems from another room. Althor misjudged the situation. He got stuck in a corner with no way to retreat and little or any magic wand he could use to dismiss the constructs. At the end, in a desperate attempt to rescue his comrades he launched his explosive arrows but they did little. Spotted and unable to run or hide he was quickly surrounded and taken down.
Tough luck.

She's bruised, battered, bloodied. Her robe is torn in a few places, showing the chainmail underneath; sweat is making her white hair dye run down her face in unsettling streaks. Her grip on her shortsword is whiteknuckled, and her arm shivers from so many impacts against metal. The look in her eye is frustrated and hopeless, resigned to death.
But then, Toric calls to her and points out the trap door in the far corner of the long, golem-filled death-hall, and something ugly and furious burns through the fear. She dashes to it, and despite combat raging around her, sh manages to unlatch the complex mechanical lock with a few tools. And though when she looks back, the fight has died down and the gathering of warriors have picked themselves up from among the metal bodies, her violent thoughts don't abate. She gestures to the trap door, voice thick and deep and breathless.
"The imp went that way. We find it, and its master, and kill them both."

Toric looked over at Suula. "Aye, lass. I be liking yer thinking. Kill the imp, then kill the dwarf who's not a dwarf." He looked around. "I've done had 'nough of this place. Let's go get that damned ore and get outta 'ere."

Amathain worked his way forwards in the wake of the party, following the obvious trail of destruction. Hoping he'd be able to catch up in time to be of aid.

"No, we don't go forward with murder in our hearts." Shanni said moving to stand between them and the trap door. Battered and hurting as she so obviously was herself a new light of strength emerged in her posture as she said the words.
"The imp thing is a being of malcontent yes, and perhaps it would be all it deserves. If we kill it I'm sure it would simply return to the substance of it's own origins eventually to plague someone else along the way." She shook her bedraggled head and her hand cut the air firmly in a gesture of denial. "But not the dwarf. He was mad, but who knows? Perhaps even this was because of the dreams? Perhaps this was because the one causing all this knew he could have a hand in aiding against him?"
"And the bottom line is we ..." the young woman gestured to indicate them all, "... walked into his home, after we were warned to be wary, and he defended himself the best way he knew how." She shook her head again. "If we have to defend ourselves further then we do, this is bigger than one person, but not this way."
"Wish him doom if you must, and I'll wish him recovery. We'll see what form of luck his soul grants him but not murder." She looked at her sister with defiance and reached for her hand. "That's not just misfortune, it's evil. And I will walk away before I witness it."
