Devotion Campaign Planning and Discussion Thread

"I think practically every creature we have met on the planes has been the same," Shanni replied. "I am mighty. You are lowly. Cower before me." She humphed. "Everything seems to under estimate us, and I'm not sure why. But then it seems to have worked for us." She grinned impishly. "Call it the Luck of the Ladies, the one working for us and the other working against them, but we're not doing too badly from it so far." The cleric chuckled a little, but then her expression grew a little sombre.
"Thing is, these places out here seem apart. We could probably survive out here if the worst came to the worst." She shook her head in a concerned manner and frowned for a moment, before breaking into a bright grin. "But who'd want to live with such a bunch of universally pompous gits?" she asked. "So there's no option but to succeed. Time to sort this bunch of morons out once and for all."

Slade wasn't happy traveling on the Astral plane. It was so sterile; no vegetation or other natural features, just endless shades of white and grey emptiness. All the creatures they'd encountered so far were hostile and/or arrogant. He wondered when he would walk under the leaves of a canopy forest again and hear the songs of the birds floating through the trees.

"You said it, sis." Suula snorted. "You know what this is? This is what happens when snotstains like this live in forsaken emptiness like this white mist misery. They decide they have no Gods. So then they get uppity 'cos they forget the fear of Gods."
The priestess of misfortune gestured with her shortsword, and looks - for a moment - as hollow-eyed, grim and blank as a deaths-head. "So I guess we're going to have to bring the wrath of Gods. It's a service, really, isn't it? Their misbegotten souls'll thank us in the hereafter."
She manages to maintain her composure for a good five seconds before starting to snigger, and soon is reduced to hugging herself and cackling.

"You do have to wonder what kind of psychological damage it does to a race of people to live on the corpses of dead gods in a sea of endless nothing. Have they become a species of solipsists? Or perhaps all that jingoistic pride people sometimes have in "their land" and "their country" becomes centred on the self when there is no land or country to speak of in which to take pride."

"Or ... or," Shanni said, her lips twitching as she looks at her sister, "maybe, maybe, it's just because they're atheistic assholes." She stifles a giggle, barely. "This place hinges on what someone believes, and we're gonna give them a damn good reason to believe hard." At which point she too lost control to the giggles, and wrapped her arms around her sister.

Nihmri, for once, did not join in on the cackling. Instead, she looked upon the endless void of the Astral Seas one last time, a strange expression on her face, almost like she were looking for something. Before she turned away, she muttered something under her breath - something that might have been a prayer.
"Alright, then," she said, with a grin that seemed only slightly forced. "Who's ready to get warped to a brand new realm of unearthly horrors by a terrible brain-monster-things? Because I sure am. Can't wait."

The Dream of the Dreamers Circle.
The team entered the Dreamers fortress only to face a number of friends or allies. Probably an elaborate illusion or something similar.
This time Althor did not have too much difficulties with his bow. It was not easy to take the enemies down but at least it was doable without relying too much on the big sword.
He also felt that soon he would be able to enchant his arrows even better. He only needed a quiet moment to perform his blood magic.
He already used up half of his arrows but he was confident that he would have enough to complete the mission. Else he would get some from Slade.

//I'm gonna have to skip this week. Mom fell last Saturday and is currently in the physical/occupational therapy ward of the hospital. We're looking at maybe a week depending on how fast she recovers from fracturing four ribs; she's been recovering extremely well so far, so we're hoping she'll continue to do so. While there's a chance I might be able to make it, I'd rather abstain than say I'd be here but have to pull out at the last minute with little to no warning. Have fun and I'll cy'all next time.
