"Thank you Toric. I will take the necklace as it can help me hold a bit more in a melee or close range fight. At least I can use that until we find something for archer and then I may have to flip a coin with Slade."

The big beholder used a Bigby's hand to try to crush the archer. He almost killed him. It took a few healing spells to keep him alive. He was nice to have clerics in this group.

"Give me a moment to focus and perhaps I can help against that ... armour wetting aura these creatures seem to induce." She paused a moment. "I think it has to be magical," she added. "Given what we have faced these last ... you know I'm not sure how long it has been now, but it's been a while, either way. You'd think we'd be used to stuff like this and not go all wibbly at the sight of a big scaly thing."

"Yes," she nodded firmly, "it has to be magical. In which case if the blessing of the goddess's protection does not work, and if it doesn't we shouldn't really need to be killing them without pause, then there's a little something that clears your head. It comes with a bit of a price but makes you realise they're just a ... umm ... big scaly thing 50 times your size with claws and teeth as long as your arm and as sharp as your sword."

"Right," Nihmri said, with forced cheer. "Nothing at all rational about fleeing in terror at the sight of something like that. Something that can probably swallow you whole. With no need to chew, or anything."

She chuckled, nervously, then sighed and shook her head. "You know," she said. "I sometimes wonder when exactly we all lost our damned minds. I suspect it happened somewhere in-between dealing with the giants and our little trip to the Literal Actual Abyss, but it's hard to pin down the exact moment, you know?"

"You lot were always a bit crazy," Suula snarks. "I'm the only sane one here. If it's not my sister simpering about as if life is one long pageant, then it's you fretting over books, Toric insisting everything Dwarf is amazing despite voluntarily leaving it all behind, and Ama completely ignoring my every effort for months and counting. Yes, I went there, Ama." She rolls her eyes. "Then there was Pius. Oh Maid, was there ever Pius. And don't get me started, Slade, don't get me started..."

She looks over at Althor. "Haven't fiigured you out yet. Are you crazy?"
