Assault on Aldera Campaign

Re: Assault on Aldera Campaign
The party cleared a lighthouse and killed a strange dragon turtle. Some members of the group were eager to kill or destroy everything they did not understand or value including dragon eggs or other things that could fetch a high price given the right buyer.
They did not loot much if anything but Rogha powers were growing back slowly but surely, her music was lasting longer and she had more spells to cast if necessary.

They left the imp on watch and made camp in one of the side corridors of the old tunnels the rivvil had not seemed to use. It could conceal itself magically and the summoning bond would alert Zau’lann instantly should it be necessary. If the rivvil investigated the extinguished flame there was a chance their position in the deeper cave would be bypassed, and they could trap the intruders in the tower above when staging their own attack.
Rest should have been possible but clarity of mind would not come. Lying beside Zau’lann she moved a stray lock of his hair and reflected on how things had changed for them both. How they had changed with it. He was a fastidious male but now as accustomed to resting on the earth as she. A far cry from when the first came together. Would he have pursued that path if he had realised what he would lose?
The attentions of a male had not interested her, that she left to her sisters. Avoided it determinedly, yet his gentile manner and intelligence somehow broke through her reserve and opened a side of her she'd not wanted to acknowledge. Killing him for his temerity alone was within her rights but she could not bring herself to do it. Instead she let little understood emotions take her and now could not imagine a life without him near. Would she have gone back to him if she had known what he would do?
There were unknown challenges still to face and no way she could plan for them completely. But perhaps, perhaps, moving with instinct instead could see them through. Was this what she needed to assimilate? Tian’ith lay her head down against Zau’lann’s shoulder and let the reverie take her.

Tonight was pork dumplings... and he -may- have used a guard uniform to leave the light house and retrieve a pig they had slaughtered earlier. He had to bribe the little imp with food not to make a fuss. Vot had a feeling that the imp would give him up anyway, but whatever, he was getting that pig. The crew would love his dumplings, so screw 'em anyway if they were annoyed.
He left the queen egg at the lighthouse. It was heavy and he had a pig to carry. Also it creeped him out and he hated it. He was nagged by distracting thoughts of it hatching in his pack. No thanks.
As he retrieved the pig, he thought about staying with this crew for awhile as one of them had mentioned before. Well, they appreciated his cooking, and it wasn't like he was going to get any other offers. He'd need somewhere to go once the Derro had finished ruining the island, and staying employed with them was unattractive despite their generous magics. So... sure, why not, he decided. Not like he had a damn goblin crew- the dumb gits deserved whatever fate they got- to run.

In the darkness, Nethos waited.
It was small. Quick, and cunning. But it knew how to survive, and it knew how to sate itself. Its current contract-holder, the one it felt bound to call master, had instructed it to keep watch over the camp and raise the alarm if trouble came, but that was boring. A cantrip could do that. So it set one, and wandered.
As the mortals slept, Nethos lurked. It padded soundlessly around them. The kobold smelled of old blood, but so stubborn, untrusting of offers of power. The red witch, perhaps... the fire-wielder was clearly the most interesting. There were prospects.
It slunk to the side of the master... considering his helpless skull, gently smelling the hair of his mistress. The master had made promises. The master had hade pledges, oh yes... they would be reality. Or the master would not be happy with what resulted, oh no... oh no indeed.
As light came, Nethos dreamed...

Darsin sat engulfed in flames. The heat radiating off the floor and walls felt good. The magic of the fire lords protected him, but, sadly, it eventually wore off forcing him to leave the fiery circle. One day, the lords would grant him permanent protection and then he could bask in the flames as long as his heart desired. He wondered how long it would be till he earned such a blessing. He would have to do more to be worthy he knew.
